Gordon will be left on the rookie list and be upgraded if needed during the year.
So as it stands we have picks 21, 39, 56 and 73. The last three have the potential to shuffl out a spot or two if any of th first round concession picks are activated. A pick further out will be used to promote Pyke.
The past two drafts have seen 76 and 79 new players drafted, that does not include rookie upgrades, just players new to a teams senior list. Even given the GC arrival there's no reason to think that many more will be drafted this year so our last pick particularly is in the twilight zone.
We currently are only minus Kirk & Thornton but plus Pyke so we only have one vacancy and need to find another three if we are to use all four picks. So that could be a combination of using one or two of the Vets outside the list positions and further delistings. Watch this space.Comment

This gives me a curious dilemma. I live an hour from Cararra just over the NSW border. I love the Swans but to see live AFL when I retire next year I will be driving to Cararra and watching the matches there. Except when they play the swans I will probably find myself supporting them and enjoying watching Gary Ablett win games for them. When they play the Swans I will be decked in red and white and have my swannies flag.Comment

Hopefully the Swans play an away game there every year.

I am in a similar boat. I live in Coffs Harbour and it is about a 4hr drive to the Goldy (much shorter than the 6-7hrs to get to Sydney). I reckon I will be going to at least a few games at Carrara next year and as such the Suns will probably become my (distant) second team.
Hopefully the Swans play an away game there every year.

Haven't seen it mentioned but the Ves trade also sent our 4th round pick 73 to the Dogs but now the dust has settled the Dogs have got our 5th round pick 90. Somewhere during the week something has transpired to give the Dogs a much later pick, did they owe us somehow for something?Comment

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Thanks for the offer but I will only retire in June. In "Land of Smiles" till then. Yeah I feel positive about the Suns and you know they will get massive local support and such is the ex Victorian base there, there will be lots of interest in everything about them. GWS on the other hand, seems like an isolated AFL bubble in a hostile sea.It will take years to break through. We may as well have sent a team to New Zealand and built a base from nothing there.
But until all their drafts blossom and they get bandwagoners, everytime we play them for their home game, it'll be like a bonus home game for us, just in Blacktown.Comment

Vespa would have a hard time getting a game with the likes of Dennis-Lane playing so well. Obviously Bullies didn't think Everett fit their long term plan. Is he worth 2 players though? I hope he works out as we need to build on youth.Comment
