Goodes clearly B.O.G., but also could have won the game, which we should have won after dominating the last qtr. That really was the win that got away.

Speaking of Hanners when he came off I thought he had broken his cheekbone at first because of how quickly it swelled up, but he's one tough nut and was out there when it counted. Personally I would have subbed off someone other than TDL - because when he went off that's actually when we started kicking the behinds. You just have this feeling that if he was the one taking one of those kicks in the final quarter he would have slotted it straight through.Comment

Lets do an Eagles on it and play for draft picks, forget about wining a game lets try and win a flag............Comment

I think people are being a bit hard on Lewis Jetta. We had many opportunities to win that game but couldn't kick a goal- 9 behinds is pretty disgraceful for a professional football team with their season on the line.
Oh well- a very disappointing loss, but there are some good signs for the future. Consider all the experience our young players are getting with all these close games- not only that , I think we've played on almost every damn oval in Australia this year- How did we get such a horror draw? Queensland -twice, Adelaide, WA, Geelong- we have travelled everywhere this year.Comment

Gutted but a cracker game. When we were on, we were ON. Amazing to watch. When we were off... Best not go there. We are simply not up to standard this year, simple as that. Keep your eye on the young guns - AJ was amazing, it is incredible to think he has less than 20 games. Sammy Reid just needs to fill out more - his kicking was good, and busted a few packs. Dan Hannebery - that took guts, simply brilliant effort to come back on after that big hit.
For a bounce or a swing 10cm either way at any point during the match, it could be us on this thread patting ourselves on the back for a great win.
I played around with one of the online finals predictor ladders this week and I figured that if we win one of the two games against Essendon and St Kilda, we'd make finals, and if we dropped both, we were still a chance to scrape in. Makes that match against the Saints so important now. (Assuming wins against Richmond and Brisbane, and a loss against Geelong, and all other matches being won by the team higher on the ladder)
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Definitely we lost the game with poor kicking at goal, they didn't win it. Can't win games of footy kicking at goal like that, on the positive, not so many handovers or clangers tonight, and a good 4 quarter effort, still at least 3 games we should have won this year but lost thru poor kickingYou can't argue with a sick mind - Joe WalshComment

Nope we're in 8th. The only way we'd get knocked out is if Roos win by 200 or so.
ETA: Actually we're in 7th just in front of Bombers. Remembering that the Bombers have still got the bye to come.
