Goodesy had really stepped up a notch in the last few games. Had a cracker of a game. How promising are our young guys -- Hanners, Parker, and Johnson were all great.
Cant be faulted on their effort, so disappointing that the team continues to make such costly errors.

I thought he was fantastic generally, but a player of his stature shouldn't be missing easy shots regulary, so I think some healthy debate of his game from that angle is OK.

I'd rather it was us than some other team. Finals experience is valuable for the young 'uns.

I agree. Goodes was great. But the difference between being great and being fantastic was kicking two open goals and kicking one after the siren, and hitting targets like mcglynn when he is on the lead instead of chipping it for the taller defender to mark on him.

Goodes is our superstar and that means expectations on him are often very high. But some things he just has to do better.

Disappointing loss, but after having put my tv through the lounge room window after the Adelaide loss (and then again the Freo game), this was an easier pill to swallow. When you look at the performances of AJ, Hanners, Reid, Kennedy, and even Jetta tonight, I've got great hope that our future is a rosy red one.

With Goodes, he's shown in the last few weeks why he was worthy of 2 brownlows. Any swans fan who knows anything about our superstar will know that through out his career hes been prone to moments of godliness along with moments of sheer idiotic frustration. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way. A Goodes, 3 votes.

Let's face it the GF will b between Collingwood and Geelong the rest are just making up the numbers
So now you're complaining about THREE horses.

Then there is nothing to complain about as an appearance at Skilled will show just how un-skilled we are!

yeah i would take finals exp any day of the week whether we are making up numbers or not...i mean we almost done the dogs last year with a yngish side.
This year we are even yngr so any finals exp is valuable.
PLus consider our list all you doubters..we have a very yng side with not many high draft picks yet we are in the mix for 6-7, compare thta with other teams in the comp who have had years in high draft picks and look where we are at.
So i for one while still get pissed off at loosing am happy with our yng developing side....(now go and get Taylor Walker from the crows please).......

Smooch was fantastic tonight. Agree with Liz, we needed a bit more from our experienced mids. Looked like Dons learnt their lessons from Round 1 and closed out ROK and B1.
Was a little disappointed in Bird's game tonight also. Not sure I can bring myself to watch the replay. Thoughts?

Our ball use kills us because we play man on man everywhere which means there are simply few loose men to kick to nor to kick from. It also means that opposition team s rarely have free time on the ball either.

Exactly my thought. C10 commentators seemed to really enjoy the game and said it was one of the best of the season.

I think that's one that got away - and not because of anything Goodes did. When we were 2 up in the last quarter, we had chances to go 6 up and blew them. Strip away the drama, highlights and lowlights from that game and it's the same problem as every other game: not kicking the goals when it matters.

I'm beginning to look to next year when these young blokes, developed properly, are going to be terrific.
