I heard Longmire was going to be on TWR but missed it due to other kiddy commitments.

I wouldn't think a three way swap for Seaby - Port - Armstrong would be an equal trade for us.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Well Adelaide are holding Richmond over a barrell over Maric. Richmond are the gift that keeps on giving. Seaby can play and is only 26 and would make a huge difference, they will go for Maric and pay through the nose.

Anyway sounds like Armstrong is a three way deal hopefully nothing stupid.

Yeah, I can see a 3-way happening here. Seaby to Port, Pick or player to Adelaide and Armstrong to us.

It's a hard one to line up who is in front on the deal. Seaby is probably more important to Port than Armstrong is to us, but given Seaby is pretty much surplus to needs imo (Myke is the clear #2 for mine), then it works out OK...

personally i think its a bit sad for us with Seabs....good player and can KICK A GOAL.....
not happy with this sub rule in what it has done for the 2nd ruckman.....But i guess for him to get other opportunities..just gotta feel for his family....

Adelaide just seem like pricks to me this trade week, being cheap on every deal.

What has Armstrong done? He's worth no more than a 3rd rounder/average player in all honesty. I'm not saying he wont be a very good player for us eventually, but that's got nothing to do with the present.

Even without the sub rule he'd be struggling to get a game - Pyke is clearly next in line. I hope a deal gets sorted for Seabs, as he's too good to be playing NEAFL.

Apparently Armstrong finished the season really strongly, averaging 20 touches etc. Seaby, as good a ruckman as we know he is, is still a 27 year old who was 'moved on' at then end of 2009, has played only a handful of games in his past 2 seasons, and is about to be 'moved on' again. His currency is probably only slightly higher than Armstrongs. That he is a big man, and that they are harder to unearth, is probably the only reason he would be of higher value than Armstrong. I wouldnt be unhappy with a straight swap.

It would be hard to put your "happy" face on if you were managing their list at the moment.

Wouldn't mind Pearce actually. Change of scenery might do him good.

Clearly No 2 based on half a dozen games.

I can't understand how other Clubs can manage two ruckmen and we can't. Seaby clearly held his own during Mummy's suspension.

I may be wrong, but weren't we playing two (Mummy and Pyke) for a number of weeks until Pyke went down injured?

Also, the fact that Pyke was named as an emergency over Seaby in the first final at least, and the fact that Pyke had his contract extended where Seaby didn't shows that Pyke is rated by the club over Seaby.

Seaby is an outstanding ruckman and was hurt by injury and Mummy becoming an A-Grade and simply outstanding ruckman in his absence.

I'm surprised it took so long for Seaby's name to come up this week, I'm surprised Richmond hasn't gone after him also. Certainly us only really playing him this year when Mummy was out hurts us getting anything decent for him and I feel a sense of concern about Pyke and Currie (?) being our backups in case of injury or suspension (Mummy seems to be aiming for a sling tackle once a year!), I also think Seaby is a good forward option, but if we can get maybe Armstrong and a pick swap, probably not a bad result.

If we can't find a way to make two ruckman work, then he deserves his opportunity somewhere else. Pity though.

Heard a rumour on 6pr tonight that the swans are showing interest in Koby Stevens from the Weagles, a yng up and coming midfielder apprently with good size about him...
