I'm just reporting what I hear on TWR and I'm not checking the validity as I'm assuming they know what they are talking about. Probably a mistake on my part.
TWR just mentioned Seaby news. Don't know what he failed. Knowing Port it's probably 100 metre sprint.
Not good news on L J but we have to assume that there is more to that story as he hasn't come on to make regular appearances and therefore the Club believes that it will be a good trade. In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

So angry right now. Nothing about the deal makes sense and yet it is seemingly about to happening. A proverbial car crash you can't stop...Comment

L J trade does not make sense as I mentioned on these threads before.
We don't know could be attitude or family reasons and the Club is doing him a favour. Who knows, time will tell.
The Swans won't trade without a good reason. Anyway, where does Emma Quayle get her info? Not the same place as TWR.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

Seaby failing a medical. What the?Comment

Give me a break. He just signed a 2 year deal. I'm almost sure this isn't his doing. Adelaide was probably interested and we've clearly caved. The club shouldn't be doing anyone favours. Our success and interests takes precedence over everything else, bar nothing.Comment

As for LJ, he is contracted and not homesick as far as we know so if Adelaide have been chasing him so hard, we should be asking for a lot more than Armstrong and pick 35.Comment
-
But if LJ wants to come home, why on earth would he sign a contract extension til the end of 2013? It doesn't make sense! Even if it was just a gesture of good-will, to ensure the Swans get full trade value if he asked to leave, he need only have signed to the end of 2012. The only way this makes sense is if Adelaide has said that LJ is the only fringe player they're interested in, and Horse has said OK, we'll let him go. Bizarre.
Although, we can't hold this against Armstrong. It will be Horse and the recruiting staff that make this call. It's no fault of Armstrong's.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

I actually think LJ is far from a sure thing of making it at senior level. He is an exquisite kick and has a great footy brain but his marking isn't a stand out, he has had lots of foot / ankle injuries, and his onfield work ethic is quite inconsistent. But I would rather we persisted with him for a while longer given our lack of forward options. If the club is even thinking about this trade it must be because they think there is a young key forward that will probably be available in the draft at whatever pick we get in return.Comment

Only thing I can think of is that he signed that contract before the latest injury and his attitude dropped away which put him out of favour. Otherwise this is just a bizarre trade and doesn't make any sense...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

TWR just mentioned Armstrong again and no mention of this deal.
It will be the White-Reid combo next year then.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

but seriously people what has LJ done that people here value him so highly? Is it just the thought that we have another high pick that didn't quite make it? We should be used to that. Jetta will probably be next.
