    IS LJ from Adelaide???
i cant see an upsize of letting LJ go...a great kick at goal (which was our BIGGEST problem winning alot more games this year)...
i dont get the match committee on that front even though they clearly and publically have acknowledged that, they haven't given more game time to notable goal kickers from the ressies...

unless LJ has requested an opportunity or they have faith in campbell heath coming through this year into our forward line

Horse has made one trade and it was Vez for Everitt, one season down it looks like a bust

If this LJ trade goes ahead as reported then he is a moron.

Armstrong is uncontracted and wants to go to Sydney, GWS can't pick him up as they've already taken one uncontracted player so let him go to the PSD if necessary

He's from Port Pirie which is some distance north of Adelaide.

Alot of his mates would have moved down to Adelaide though.

Well L J was meant to replace Barry Hall as I recall originally.

I'd say young Sammy has this mantle now and Jesse will be the side kick.

Vez has and will do nothing with the Doggies, so criticism of Longmire (who is not the list manager) is very harsh.

Semms dumb deal for Armstrong when he was uncontracted but the Swans obviously see more value in pick 36 than retaining Lewis.

I've moved on, so can we get someone decent for 36 or possibly someone in the draft.

                caj23, sheeze that's a bit harsh.

Maybe LJ asked for the trade. Maybe he is just not cutting it in Sydney. Maybe he will be better off in his own patch of grass. Maybe we will be better served having someone who wants to be here, big time, than someone who played hot and cold - and yes he did. He was either spot on and a joy to watch, or fluffing around like he had had a something better to do (my opinion from observation, not anyone elses), as well as often carrying injury. He did NOT push his way into seniors. Jetts, Gazza, AJ, Sam, they all did as well as an 18yo kid called Luke. Nippa is still plugging away. I can name a few toppies who would give their eye teeth to play.

I would much rather have a maleable work in progress that has asked to move to the Swans than a not all that fussed Swans player. We now have Joey, Ted, Rhyce, Benny, Marty, who came from other clubs because they wanted to be here. Works for me.

Agree. Armstrong made it clear he wanted to go to Sydney. Why give up LJ for him? There is no way Adelaide should come out even or in front on this deal. LJ and P35 is not enough considering the way it has unfolded. You wonder if the Coaching Staff feel deep down he won't cut it. I'll back them. LJ has had a tough run up here and i guess its better to have a guy in Armstrong really wanting to be in the Sydney environment than one that is non-plussed about being @ Sydney. I would want more than LJ and P35. Emma is a good journo and she is pretty adamant the deal is done pending the medical clearance.

Does the medical include a psychiatric/attitude assessment?

You're right Primmy. There has to be a very good reason why a young A J plays in his first year and L J can't play regularly now. I don't think it has anything to do with injury.

The Swans see more value in Jesse than what they do in Lewis.

I think LJ has been a bit of a disappointment. I expected a lot when he was first drafted based on the video. He had a few chances but didn't grab them. Endlessly injured. An extra pick and a decent looking player sounds like a fair deal.
