    Unbelievable!

Will anyone ever question the Swans trade week recruiting again?
Effectively we got Armstrong, Morton and Walsh for Lewis Johnston, and oft injured underdeveloped player that would have struggled for a game in 2012.
That's a lot of talent for a wing and prayer.

I'm feeling really good about next season. We've got a pretty solid list now. I was wondering if we could seriously challenge for a top 4 spot, pushing Carlton and WCE out of the way, but now I think it's very possible.

One again - Swans recruiters have identified areas we needed improvement in and gone after the players they wanted, and secured them. Will never doubt them again

Alright despite being a sooky bitch about the Armstrong trade, the recruiters have again displayed their nous. Will never doubt their trading ability again. Well done KB and Horse.

So what draft picks are we left with?

Tommy Walsh must be deemed ready to play seniors - after a couple of years in the VFL, another year in the NEAFL would most likely send him backwards. I look forward to seeing what he can offer early in 2012.

Happy overall with the trades - not bad getting 3 guys for 1. Bodes well for team depth next year.

Saints guy I know is DEVESTATED to lose Walsh! We effectively picked up Walsh and Armstrong for Johnston and then Morton for pretty much nothing while keeping our second and third round picks (43 and 61) for the draft and don't forget Mitchell! Very, very happy!

Mitch Morton: doesn't chase, takes shots from anywhere, doesn't listen to the coaches- could he be any more perfect?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Hutchy on TWR thought that the Swans were the winners of trade week. The TWR team were shocked that the Saints lost Walsh after nurturing him for two years. They thought it was a major list management stuff up and in trade week did nothing to alleviate their salary cap problems.

They caught Longmire leaving (whistling and kicking up his heels..................I just made that bit up) and he said they targeted Walsh at the start of the week and were very happy to get him. Happy about Armstrong to help out in defence and said Tex Morton showed that he has alot of potential after kicking 41 goals in 2009 and the leading Tigers goal kicker that year.

When asked about...............what was his name again????? ..............He said he had injury issues over the last few years and wished him all the best. I got the impression from his voice that there may have not have been too much angst there to see him go.

You'd think that it would only make sense that Tommy plays in Number 22 next year.

He's done what he had to do in Ireland in 2009 and now to live up to his potential.

The Saints fans on the Herald Sun website message board were giving Lyon a bit of abuse.

I'm glad I don't have egg on my face after having full faith in a trading. Thank God Mitchell took the option of a first round pick away from the Swans this year. We have an outstanding record for trading for players with our first round pick but absolutely hopeless record in picking first rounders in the national draft.

So it's 4 in (without any rookie elevations) and 4 out. Means we have to create two (at least) spaces for the draft. I presume Sumner is one. The other??????

PS Hope Walsh is given number 17.
