No one will know how well we've done here until 2012 gets under way but it looks a lot better now than it did two days ago. Essentially one fringe player (Johnston) for three guys who are very much ready to go so surely we can't lose the trade?
I have my fingers crossed and don't really care about egg on face, I love being proven wrong by this club.Comment

have to remember morton is only 186cm's but plays tall, but is quite mobile..so you may see him more on the HF flank coming into the forward line... Reid a more mobile CHF no doubt, Walsh & Spangher or White leading up from FF...followed by our crumbers
the fact is it now makes other teams focus on what players take who as we will have at least 3 genuine targets..Comment

I am worried about the number of mediocre/unproven forwards we now have on our list: White, Spangher, Walsh, Everitt, Morton, TDL. Not sure we have enough midfield depth.Comment

a very very deep experienced list..........I think we have given 2012 and 2013 our best chance with the likes of Shaw, ROK, Bolts, Mattner, LRT, Goodes etc all at the age of producing still some of their best footy but are at the top of the cycle of peaking..................hard to say when the down cycle will occur but we have Smithy, Jack, Kennedy, Macca etc to keep steering the ship but we also have a very very young half of the team coming thru
for me the x factor is Lamb and Rohan ie what can they do in 2012 ???
both dangerous players ready to hit that next level and of course Reidy will be double teamed in 2012 so very smart to bring in walsh along with White, Goodes, LRT, Spang, Andrejs as potential targets depending on their form etc all getting minutes upfront when needed and when worthy !
The competition is seriously hotting up and the pre season has intensity intensity intensity written all over it !"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Well, I had my misgivings about losing LJ but the club, as per usual, knew what they were doing.
This omelette on my face is really tasty...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I like to think our forward line is developing.
Walsh is certainly unproven but he looks huge.
Morton's talents are well known. I think his performance has been impacted by being the only forward target in a rabble that was Tigerland. In a more mature team he could flourish.
Everitt - depth player
Spangher - depth player who has surprised us. By being such a physical committed player he's taken the pressure of Sam Reid
TDL - talented but needs to be fitter.Comment

Walsh looks like Luke Parker's older brother. the build on that man! I am also rather impressed with his mental toughness - it must have taken a bit of something to face down the new coach and panel and say no I am not staying here, I want to go to the Swans. Its my way (the Swans) or I am out of here (I am assuming).
OK, its going to be an interesting preseason isn't it. It will sort out those blokes/boys with mental toughness to either force their way into the side, or hold on to their spot.

Competition for places is NEVER a bad thing! If TDL has to play better to earn his spot, the club and he will be better for it. Depth has never been an overwhelming strength of the Swans so this is good!Swannies for life!Comment
