Yeah stationing Tippett in the forward line and blooding Mitchell will give us the luxury of being able to drop guys like McVeigh back to the half back line to strengthen the defence when needed. I can't emphasise how more secure that option makes me feel than relying on fringe players that may or may not work out.
Tippett!!

He'll play vs Port. I was at a 'nominate your mate' function on Tuesday night and a question was asked whether Tippett will play against Port Adelaide. Macca took the query and said, "he wasn't drafted to play ressies"Comment

We have been losing a few of our defence line. Perhaps we should be looking for a second Tippett?

There was some suggestion that the Swans had their eye on him for last year's rookie draft. But then he decided not to nominate. We have been losing a few of our defence line. Perhaps we should be looking for a second Tippett?

To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!Comment

People will always be jealous of a team that wins the premiership and they'll look to poke holes to bring them back down. All the clubs signed off on the COLA and to cry foul now is just childish. Having NSW viewers is essential to the TV deal that takes in tonnes of cash for the whole league, which in turn is generously redistributed to other clubs. They need NSW based clubs for that to work (and I hope GWS does work out, GC have come a long way this year and hopefully they will too next year).
Roosy showed an interesting graphic of all the players that were cut last year and how with their salaries combined, plus the allowed increase applicable to all clubs made more than enough salary space for Tippett's inclusion. Seaby and Moore were both on a lot of money surprisingly and I doubt any of the new draftees and rookies will be on that much. Just yet.Comment

Seriously getting Joel is not a bad idea, considering how our defence situation may turn out with a couple more retirements soon. While we're at it we can look at Ben Reid (perhaps $$$ issues there). How many pairs of brothers would fit into the best 22? I would probably be a record that stands forever if we tried it.
There is no way in hell that Joel would play for the Crows. That suggestion is laughable.
