He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Aunty please don't compare Jesse to Teddy. Jesse seems to be a terrific bloke, with the build and the temperament to be whatever he wants to be but personally, I don't think he has what it takes between the ears.Comment

Ooohhh you said it out loud Jewels! He has obviously got something between his ears, he is involved in what looks to be a good business after all. But .... Gowornn Jesse prove us all wrong! If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

there seem to be a large difference in IQ which has allowed Teddy to learn how to play better...and it took him 5 years or so. I for one suggested getting rid of him when he used to make many dumb decisions and skill errors - so clearly it is very difficult and very rare to improve in the manner that he has done. Or maybe I am wrong and it is just maturity...Jesse was very Gen Y doofus (with a heart of gold) when he arrived...if at 25 he has become a man then maybe that is all he needs to finally become a footballer who can improve :-)"I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

Wow, I've never met Jesse, so I guess I can't really comment.
I would hope that those who have commented on his intelligence, or lack thereof, have not only met him, but have got to know him to make calls like that. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Mine was not an actual call on his intelligence, more a get-it-together kind of thing.
I once worked at a golf club and we had two pretty good young golfers there, both had the skills and even the attitude to go far but it was often said amongst the older golfers that player one would "make it" whilst player two, who was the more skilled, was just as dedicated and hard working at his craft, would end up being a damn fine pro somewhere but would never cut the mustard in the pro tour.
Twenty plus years down the track, player one is still making a fair living on the pro tour and player two is gone and forgotten.
That's what I meant about Jesse.Comment
