Why is everybody so worried about the money aspect? Nobody really knows what anybody is getting paod and if u put any faith in what the papers trot out as gospel re player payments then I have an Opera Hiuse to sell u.
I'm just interested what he brings to the field, same as every player on the list. I don't give a rats arse what they are getting paid and as supporters, I don't get why anybody is worried about it.

It is not unreasonable to be concerned that with Tippett taking up as much cap room as he allegedly will, that this will make it difficult to hang on to all our young up and coming players in the future, both the premiership players and the ones on the fringe. It is a legitimate concern IMO. We love our players, we don't want to lose them or not be able to pay them a wage that is fair in terms of market value. We don't know what Tippett will be getting paid, true, but I do know theres a lot of swans players in line for significant contract upgrades in the next few years, based on this years performances and the expected development left in these guys.

So you really think that our lot have just said "We want Kurt, we can fit him in this year and bugger the next few, we'll hurdle that bridge when we come to it"? That may be the way The Crows manage their list but it's not the Swans way. I would be really, REALLY, REALLY surprised if estimates and strategies and plan A's, B's and C's aren't in place for the next 3-5 years.

I didn't say that, it did say it is a legitimate concern. Geelong lost Garry Ablett, who's to say we won't lose Joey or Hanners in a few years time if they are offered something we can't come close to matching ( which without tippetts salary, we possibly could). There's no need to jump on anyone who expresses a bit of concern over potential negative outcomes this Tippett deal may produce. We are only expressing a opinion, the same as everyone else on here. If we all agreed, it would be a boring place and we'd need to find hobbies. Let's face it, we don't want to do that do we ?

1) The rucking got the ball to Nic Davis, and we got into the Grand Final.
2) He has never left the club, he has been serving on the board for years.
= bloody good investment if you ask me.

C'mon Primmy, we recruited him at the end of '99 as a key forward, not with an eye to winning a ruck contest in '05. It turned out to be a very seredipitous investment, but that shouldn't be confused with planning.
