If tippet goes to PSD, gws will take him. They need a marque player, and would love the rivalry snagging him would make
Tippett!!

1 Gws would need to afford his salary, sounds unlikely
2 Do you want to draft a guy who does not want to come to your club really?
I am crossing my fingers they push him into the draft. I thought the Aints looked like vermin with how they treated Luke Ball, I will die laughing if the Crows shoot themselves like that...
Please please please Crows force him into the draft. You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

Apparently Tippett can stipulate not only the value of his contract, but the structure. Which means all he needs to do is back-end it and he'll price GWS out (who will be needing to re-sign a bunch of young, talented players in the next 1-3 years, while dealing with a shrinking cap). So yeah, I can't see GWS going for him, if that is indeed the case.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Pick 23 + Tippet = Gold
I think the Crows need their own sit com. They are the funniest thing everYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

No chance GWS would take him. The next couple of years might be OK for them salary cap wise (although they would be massively front-ending the contracts of Scully, Ward, Davis etc, plus Folau - so might not even have the initial space people might think), but it would be a noose around their neck in years 3 and 4 of a Tippett contract trying to retain all their gun youngsters.
All the reporting has been pretty low-key on what was apparently an agreed trade being pulled at the 11th hour - on reflection I would have expected Sydney and White's manager to be irate, and if not providing direct comments, they'd have leaked out their displeasure over Adelaide's handling of things.
So in that absence of that, I'm starting to wonder whether something unexpected did come up on Friday, but everything is actually still on track for our deal. Perhaps Adelaide expected to get a 3rd round pick for Knights and when that didn't happen they needed more time to juggle other plans. Or another club became interested in Graham so they decided to push that through urgently.
We should know pretty soon - White's manager will have to shop him around pretty quickly (and that news will get around) if Adelaide are in fact stuffing around.Comment

The Kangas were definitely interested in Graham but considering Adelaide didn't have to pay much for him (a downgrade from 40 to 50) I'm not sure it the Roos bid anything at all.Comment

Latest in the Adelaide Addie today 4.15pm. Jesse deal still in the mix:
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/...-1226500210423
It adds to some of the great journalist cliches of the past, such as: "Prominent Sydney Businessman", "Colourful Racing Identity", "Disgraced former police officer", "Underworld Standover merchant" etc.
You know, I sort of hope we end up keeping Jesse. There is a player in there somewhere. He just needs to buy in to the Bloods culture a bit more. Remember Kirky almost got boned too for "not quite making it".Comment

Good advice IU2, which I'm going to ignore. According to Il Rucci in the Tiser on Saturday, some of the Crows team agreed to take a pay cut in order to offer Tippett $800,000 next year. If that's true doesn't that suggest that Tippett and his manager were shaking down the club, possibly in order to raise the offer from the Suns (and Swans)? Sounds more plausible than Tippett wanting to spend more time with his family (who were last reported to be in Melbourne). That might also explain why the club is so displeased with him; it's not as if they're unaccustomed to players departing, and at least Tippett had the grace not to run away as Gunston did.
And maybe being strung along by Tippett was why Adelaide didn't seek a deal for Tippett during the season (although dumbness and indolence on the part of the football department is probably a fairer explanation).
Still, the fact that the Tippett saga has gone on for so long, is so opaque and mysterious, with constant new developments yet nothing actually happening other than mass hyperventilation by Crows fans, and that I'm not only reading but actually quoting the most unreliable source in the industry, makes me think it's just one more part of Andy D's off-season media dominance strategy. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

hhhmmm
so if White cant be traded to Adelaide and we pick up Tippett in the draft..........does that mean we need to delist another player ?
does it also mean we cant take on tippett due to Whites contract pushing our cap in 2013 !"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Perhaps the Kangas will now be interested in Jesse.
I think that would be a better result for Jesse, than going to a club that clearly doesn't want him.
And having to endure the constant comparisons with Tippett.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Kangas are interested in another ruckman now that they've let McIntosh go (for not a lot IMHO). If Goldstein goes down with an injury, they'll just have the exciting but inexperienced Majak Daw and some-time ruck Drew Petrie as his replacement. They'll be aiming for someone who's ready to step in if required.Comment
