Tippett!!

I wonder how much Hawthorn's recruiting of Lake has to do with us possibly getting Tippett. We are one of their main threats to next year's premiership, and their defence has been their only weakness. If we land Tippett, then we could cause their defence massive problems as it is.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Im fed up with outsiders giving our club stick for going for Tippett. If it was a melbourne said their would be no dramas. It's not as if we have tried to poach him away from adelaide or gotten in his ear. He simply has not wanted to renew his contract with that dump called adelaide and wants to move on. Rightfully we have pounced.LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Tippett?
The thing a lot of the media seem to be missing is, we don't " need" Tippett. He would be fantastic to have in the side, and the club have shown they certainly want him, but at the end of the day we are not going to kill ourselves to get the deal done. We are the reigning premiers. Our forward line is an issue, but with the main target up there being a 20 year old, it is only going to be better next year anyway. If it was good enough to win a flag, it is not that terrible. If we can't get Tippett for what we think is reasonable, then so be it.Comment

did anyone see this from Ireland !
Tippett has agreed to a four-year contract offer to joins the Swans, who began negotiating a deal with the Crows on Monday morning, as the AFL's trade period officially opened.
Both clubs were coy about what the Swans needed to put on the table, although Ireland said no premiership players would be given up, which suggests Sydney's top draft pick,
No.22 overall, will need to be part of a deal.
But Ireland refused to commit to offering that pick.

So says the SMH. The latest from the Swans website, on the other hand:
The Swans' chief executive is hopeful of not involving any premiership players in any deal to get Tippett to Sydney, but didn't rule it out.Comment

its great no one wants to leave the Bloods !
makes it even more difficult for the Crows......unless they keep pushing more picks in exchange for one of our players going to another club ie White to GC or Brisbane ?"be tough, only when it gets tough"
