Tippett's still happy, Adelaide will crack the sads.
On the latest draft order the Suns dont have a first round pick left - gave no.2 away.

Tippett will be snapped in the PSD not the ND. You can't trade away PSD picks.

            Tippett?

Tippett allows Goodes to roam though, he won't be required to play as a key forward.

              Re: Tippett?

We'll get Tippett and it'll be on our terms. Adelaide will stall and stall, but ultimately something is better than nothing.

He chose Sydney, no club will want a guy who doesn't want to be there.

Tippett is - planning for the future. Goodes/LRT won't be around in a few years time. This is the right move. And the backloading of the contract shows that they are planning for the retirements to come in the next year or so.

22 and White would be an incredible win, a fantastic deal I must say. Fingers crossed.

And apart from the 2 Queensland clubs no other club appears to have shown an interest.

He's very agile and good at ground level for a bloke his size, which is part of the reason he's rated so highly despite inconsistent performances. Kind of like Jesse White, but even bigger and can mark. So of all the talls we could recruit, he's one of the least concerning with regard to being too top-heavy. It's not like we'd have Hale or Hudson down there.

I hope that we play him as a full-time FF, and let Reid roam as a CHF. It will almost certainly push either LRT or Grundy out of the side though.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

                      hhhhhmmmm

SHARROD Wellingham is now an Eagle after West Coast traded its first-round draft pick to Collingwood, No. 17, for the midfielder.

who got the better deal ?????

Collingwood confirmed the trade in an emailed press release on Tuesday night.

Wellingham played 92 games for Collingwood after debuting in round six, 2008, and was a member of the Magpies' 2010 premiership team and their losing 2011 Grand Final team.

West Coast list manager Craig Vozzo denied the Eagles had paid too much for Wellingham.

"We're pretty comfortable with the deal, we identified he'd be a player that would improve us," Vozzo said.

"In this business sometimes acting decisively gets the job done."

Collingwood recruiting manager Derek Hine said the club wished the 24-year-old well.

"He played some good football for the club and shared in a premiership, which is a fine achievement," Hine said.

"Equally, we're very pleased to have a stronger presence in the national draft.

"It's been some time since we've had this sort of hand to work with."

Collingwood now has picks 17 and 18 in the first round of this year's NAB AFL Draft.

Wellingham was drafted from WAFL club Perth with pick No. 10 in the 2007 Rookie Draft. He recently declared a desire to return to his home state.

Has the TAB framed a market on the outcome. The pool would be impressive.

You do realise that for Tippett to actually play seniors then one of the Premiership 22 is going to be playing in the NEAFL. Even if Jude retires you've still got to fit in McGlynn and Rohan.

So you might as well just tweet #noTippet4Swans.

Personally I salute everyone one of the swans team, coaching staff and management for a spectacular 2012 ending up with the ultimate prize that nobody can ever take away from them.

2013 however is a new season and I expect the club to focus on whatever hard calls are required to go back to back, while treating all parties with fairness and dignity.

Well, we may not have as charmed an injury run as we did last season. It'd presumably be Pyke to make way in the 22, which is a shame, but he'd still be a valuable backup.

It's hard to see us not losing a premiership player, though. 22 plus a fringe player isn't really enough.

The Wellingham deal sounds pretty fair to me. A lot of good deals going down this year and they seem to be fair and making our main competitors stronger. I almost feel that we have to do the Tippett deal on our terms just to keep up.

Which always brings you back to who is available and who would the crows want and the end point is the same. One of the - in my view - indispensible youngsters. I do find the whole thing distasteful and depressing. We are behaving like a ruthless footy club which many see as a positive. I just feel sad for the moment. Maybe I will come around down the track
