I can see the story unfolding before my eyes:

A deal for KT cannot be reached by the trade deadline.

Swans get KT with last pick in PSD for free.

KT has a breakout season along with Sam Reid. Both named AA

KT has head clash with Dangerfield in Adelaide game. KT okay, but Dangerfield sits out rest of season due to dizzy spells.

Swans go back to back in 2013

KT decides he really misses his Mummy (not our Mummy) after all and asks to be traded to Gold Coast with 3 years left on his big contract. Now a true star, we get Jaeger O Meara and their 1st round pick for KT.

Meanwhile, Tommy Walsh has finally mastered our game and is the leading goal kicker in the NEAFL. He's ready for the big time.

Walsh kicks 72 goals as Swans FF in 2014, wins the Coleman and takes the Swans to its 3rd Premiership in a row.

Earlier that year, in a game between Adelaide and GC, Tippett has a head clash with Dangerfield, but this time it is Tippett that has to sit out the season with dizzy spells.

Gary Ablett Jr only non Swan named to AA team.

Swans unbackable favourites to take 4th flag in a row in 2015.

Swans voluntarily give up their COL, because every player willing to play for the Swans for next to nothing.

Swans trade Jesse White to Adelaide for Patrick Dangerfield in a straight player swap. Swans fans cry foul. Crows fans thrilled.

Give me Parker and Pick 23 (whom ever that is) over Tippett, any day.

I'm starting to wish Tippett would just go away.
I cannot believe that they woud letthat trade happen. Would be extremely disappointed if it did

If Bolton plays on, his knee could go at any minute and that will end his career. Parker is the obvious replacement.

So why trade him if they don't have to. The Crows people are morons and it is no wonder so many players have left them.

Walker probably would have gone to if it were not to stay with his mates.

They should just pick him up in the draft for whatever pick. It will serve them right for being so greedy.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Parker is a contracted player. They can't force him to go to Adelaide, and why should he? The coach loves him. He's ready to move right in as Jude's replacement in a premiership team. Maybe the AFC asked for him to be part of the deal, but that may well be all there was to it. There is no indication whatsoever that we would entertain that idea. There is so little that's leaked out about these negotiations, that any name that has popped up, however speculative, just keeps getting rehashed over and over.

I just thought I would mention that Liz has posted some excellent responses to Adelaide fans on Sydney's BF site. It makes very good reading and has set the record straight on much of their whinging. Whether it sinks in with that lot is anyone's call.

The rumours (such as they are) are not parker to adelaide. They are parker for a draft pick from a third club (currently carlton) and the draft pick to adelaide. the way this gets done is if carlton says - luke you are on $100,000 with the swans. We are willing to pay you $200,000 and you will get to play with judd and join one of the big melbourne clubs. what do you think ?

I really dont want this to happen as I watched him a lot this year as have we all and he is going to be a seriously good footballer. I am pretty sure if he went to carlton he'd have brock mclean's place before you could say round 1

but dont be mistaken - if there is a serious offer on the table for him it is likely to be better than what he is currently on.

the issue is still what it has been since day one - we would prefer not to pay more than we have to and the crows are looking for the best they can get. And that will depend upon what other clubs are interested in trying to get hold of tippett - if no-one is interested and tippett doesnt want anywhere else then we are in the box position. which we are. but things could change.

Listening to the Adelaide recruiter say they will do everything possible and explore every option I get the feeling that perhaps this is for the benefit of the fans. The turkeys on 5AA said it all "let Tippett sweat for the rest of the week."

There the biggest muppets going around. Honestly. Face the facts already the bloke doesn't wanna be at your club and move on. Nothing more, nothing less. Deadset bunch of flogs. Cant wait till we smash that mob next year.

Hopefully Luke's response (to himself) is

"I'm 19 and I've just played in a winning premiership side, I was well entrenched in the senior side at the start of the year and, despite not quite recovering my form after a serious injury, I still worked my way back into the team. I know that the Swans see me as part of their long term future and I am confident they will reward me well when my contract next comes up for renewal. I love playing with, and learning from, the likes of Macca, Jude, ROK and Goodsey, and we're a team with no egos, no stars. What's more, I've a real chance to be back at the MCG next year with a team that has gelled with its coach, whom we all respect. Carlton have a good midfield, albeit one reliant on a couple of players, but a dogdy defence and no tall forwards. What's more, they have a new coach who is going to come and shake things up a bit next year, so who knows where the Blues will be next September.

Plus I love my surfing and the weather sucks in Melbourne..."

Am I the only one who finds this a bizarre take on things. Apparently by leaving the Crows, Tippett will now be accountable for another player having to be cut from the list. Huh? No-one forced them to take both Graham and White (if indeed they even take White).

And it's also Tippett's fault they the Crows were too slow off the mark to enter the free agency market, despite the fact he must have freed up a huge chunk of their salary cap. Freo were so quick off the mark to snare Pearce that they clearly had been talking to his manager for some while. Given that Tippett's decision to leave hardly came out of the blue, wouldn't you kind've thunk that, if they were interested in him, the Crows would have also had a word in his manager's ear to let him know of their interest?

Not to mention that signing a free agent would have required another current Crow to be cut. Would that have been Tippett's fault too?

Is it possible to play the victim card any more strongly? Any sympathy I had for the unfortunate position the Crows have found themselves in getting reasonable value for Tippett is rapidly evaporating.

They're just delaying the deal to reap enough pain on Tippett as possible I reckon by making him sweat. This deal is pretty much done. White + 23 for Tippett although I'd really love those Parker rumours to go away. According to his premiership interview he is in Mexico ATM. Wouldn't be a nice phone call to get about the possiblity of leaving the premiers after 3 weeks.

I wonder if this would have been the saga it has become if we had have had a season like 2011? Thereabouts but not really a challenger.

As I said in another post, why didn't the AFC brains trust (and I use that term loosely) float the idea of a trade for Tippett last year, when he was still contracted? He has never made a secret of wanting to leave Adelaide, so much so that a clause (in one form or another) was added to his last contract.
One reason, I would hazard a guess, is that toward the end of last season the talk was that they were going to loose Walker!
I think the AFC need to look inwards rather than blame Tippett, The Swans, The AFL, anybody they can for their recent spate of departures.
