What happened with Tippett??
When does the clock run out on the deal?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Kangas are interested in another ruckman now that they've let McIntosh go (for not a lot IMHO). If Goldstein goes down with an injury, they'll just have the exciting but inexperienced Majak Daw and some-time ruck Drew Petrie as his replacement. They'll be aiming for someone who's ready to step in if required.
Ah yes, the amazing Majak Daw. A good mate of mine who is a staunch North supporter simply rolls his eyes when Daw's name is mentioned. When I said to him last week that people say Majak is the next messiah at North he said; "really, he has to get a game first". Says North supporters don't understand what all the hype is about.
If Jesse is going (likely one way or another) I'd like to see the Roos pick him up. As you have pointed out, a good fit. What picks do they have to maybe trade for Jesse (or a player we can recycle in the Bloods manner)?
How ironic that it was Jessie who was the 19th man on the ground against North, (who I remind one and all went absolute bananas etc etc), and the one who changed the interchange rule.
For those who believe the Swans are the only ones who can fit Tippett under the cap via PSD should perhaps think again. GWS is now saying they would only swap any of their first 3 picks for an established superstar and they give Pendlebury, Cotchin, Judd etc as examples. OK they do not mention Tippett in the same breath but if they thought they could trade for one of these superstars then they must have heaps of reserve cash in the war chest.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Daw is a reasonably impressive project player, but someone like Jesse would probably be more helpful to the Kangas in 2013 at least. I'd say Daw will get some game time in 2013 but Jesse would be a good fit for them...

They may have the cash now but it's assumed that they'll need to cough up plenty in a few years' time to keep all their emerging stars. Anyway why would they want to take Tippett anyway? They have plenty of talent in that position. If they were to bring in any established players now they would want them to have real pulling power a-la Gary Ablett - Tippett ain't that guy...
Oh well, I guess if they really want him, they can have him - I am over it......

Except he said he will only go to the Swans. So this is all hyperthetical. They won't draft him to sit out a season either.
I all of this emotive discussion. One thing that comes to mind is is Tippet being completely over rated.
I think he will be handy, but he has never looked a star. I always thought Gerard Healy overly talked him up.
Will he change us that much? Or is t just to much fun screwing with the Crows given how much they have gone the poach/ tried to screw other clubs over the year
Loving seeing their response in the circumstance.
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler
I'm not 100% certain on this so maybe someone can clarify for me. As far as GWS picking up Tippet in the PSD, I think the major consideration for them would be space on their list. Do they need to shrink their list for next year? Regardless, presently thy have had 4 players leave the club through retirements / delistings, and they have 5 picks in the first 13. To my mind that means at present they can only use 4 of those picks, do I would think using one of them in the PSD on Tippet would not be a priority due to their already noted gun young forwards.

He's a bit inconsistent really. He hasn't dominated a season, but at the same time he's clearly been uncomfortable about his time in Adelaide and has sought to leave a couple of times. Given the right team and the right circumstances he could be quite good. A revelation, no, but something greater than what we've already seen of him.
Should Sydney get him, we are definitely overpaying him. However its not really about what he can do individually, but the impact he has on the team and specifically Sam Reid. With Goodes out for much of the season Sam really had a lot of pressure on him and there were quite a few games where I thought everything would be a little easier if we had a capable forward to assist.
The fact that we had the midfield kicking the bulk of our goals and we still won a premiership amazes me. People on here seem a little non-plussed about whether we get Tippett or not, but in my mind we have what, one or two years before Bolton, ROK, LRT, Richards, Shaw, GOODES all leave? Time is of the essence. If we can sure up our one clear weakness, the one part of our team that can be exploited, why not get Tippett? In a years time if we are celebrating another premiership who'll regret that decision? Certainly not me, you guys or the club.
I hope this saga gets over and done with, I hope we keep all of our good players, but I really hope we have Tippett on our books next year.
