KT needs to come out and re-emphasise that he wants to be a swan...he needs to do that considering that we pretty much the whole trade period on him...
for GWS to come in like this is a bit pointless and sounds like Sheedy doing his usual mind games...why would you draft a player who has already come and said i want to play with another side...but he still needs to make that statement

KT won't be saying anything until the AFL investigation is over and punishment handed out. If the AFL deregister him and or don't allow him to enter the draft then they are effectively rubbing him out for a season, and again a restraint of trade action would be eminent. My thought is that they will deregister him and allow him to go into one of the drafts. I doubt he will be doing too many press conferences during his career.

        OMG.
        Still going?????

Lucky we have a no dickheads policy.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

A piece in the SMH today suggested that the AFL would be "happier" if Tippett went to Brisbane, Gold Coast or GWS rather than Sydney. If that's true I find it pathetic. We have every right to manage our list just like any other club.

If the AFL want a happy ending, they should find the approrpiate establishment. Otherwise, they have no say where he goes.

Can't imagine the 25yr old being wrapped at losing week in week out and missing out on finals football for the rest of his career. I expect GWS will struggle to get his buy-in and without it well........just talk to a Crows fan. For this reason I suggest he'll tell GWS he wants to come to Sydney and that's what will happen.

I Agree, like all businesses they are bound by restraint of trade, and cannot be seen to be 'tampering' with the process.

If Tippetts' lawyers think the AFL are meddling, then I imagine they would take them to court.....Having said that....

Given the spectre of de registration hanging over his head, Tippett may have a change of heart and go GWS anyway.

Surely he'll see what the punishment is, if any, and then decide what to do.

The AFL can't do a type of plea bargain offering him a lesser penalty for agreeing to go into one of the drafts that disadvantages us, that would be tampering with the draft!

When the hell is the AFL going to wrap up this investigation and hand out some penalties?

I guess they are pretty busy ATM with the Melbourne thing going on as well.

Relax, the more time it takes up, the less dead time there is between now and the pre-season.

GWS can entice Tippett as much as they want, his made his mind up, the trade couldn't get done because of the investigations and he will enter the PSD.

He will nominate us as his preferred club, and will be granted his wish.

Will gws risk drafting a player against his will? Would he have his heart in the game, if he is disgruntled?

One of the most important considerations for a player is to be gruntled.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It's important to ensure the game plan remains mantled.
