I'm with you Reggi, reads as an endorsement, whist not yet having him on the list.

I just don't get the negativity about him. I understand that not everyone would be jumping hoops but boy talk about grasping at straws for reasons to not want him! If he was the big ogre that the AFC have made him out to be, then why the hell were they so damned determined to keep him?
How about we all just leave it up to the club, they seem like they have a pretty good handle on running a professional football club.

Ok settle - I just didn't see the article as being one about KT and what the playing group think (I'm sure they're 100% behind the idea). I have gone from someone who wasn't particularly keen on this at the start, to more than happy that we are 99% sure of landing him, because it's pretty clear that the club has thought this through and the players are in agreement with it. However this article is about Jude - of course journos are going to ask Swans players about the saga, and of course they'll give responses like Jude did - not counting chickens before they hatch etc etc. What else was he going to say anyway?

I was just expressing my interpretation of the article.

Most of the negativity is about the huge contract he's supposedly been offered, not so much about him as a player.

And yes we all know the footy department have been fantastic in recruiting , developing etc...but we can all still have an opinion.

My opinion is we are paying him over what he is currently worth.

If the figure of approx $800k - $900k per year is correct, he'll be the highest paid player at the Swans....That needs to be justified on the field.

You appear to know a lot about how much everyone is being paid, or are you just guessing like everyone else?

Most people thing we jagged a premiership this year, and I'm inclined to believe them. We need to substantially improve to go back to back, and if that means paying overs for the best available key forward, then so be it.

If we win a flag in the years of his tenure at the club and he plays his role, then his price will be justified.

Nah we didn't jag it- we WON IT.

Yeah why do people think we jagged it? We beat every team except Richmond ( who cares about them), we won at every ground (except skilled and no one wins there) and we beat the flag favourites 2 out of the 3 times we played them. We also won a lot of games very convincingly. It is insulting to say we jagged it.

I said..."IF the figure of $800k - $900k per year is correct".....so obviously I don't know and am not pretending to know.

But if those reported amounts are even close to correct, then my guess is only Goodesy is being paid anywhere near that amount...

Certainly my view, of Tippett coming to the Swans, is positive, in that he'll improve our list.

But that doesn't justify the supposed salary he'll get....

How he plays will determine that.

Jagged it? What a load of crap.

We were the top team for most of the year and then beat the other top 4 teams in the finals to win the flag. In our two narrow losses to Hawthorn and Collingwood we were missing Bolton in the middle.

What the hell does 'jagged it' mean?
Is this some new fangled term the kids are using these days?

They either can't spell "hooked" or its in reference to the way that squid are caught. Fish get hooked and squid get jagged.

                            That's my guess.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

We jagged it because in two of the finals we played, if the opposition kicked straighter we would have lost.

Don't mistake "jagged" for not being worthy. We did what was required to win, but in 2013, every club will be on to us.

I would guess that goodies salary has started to decline once he got over 30. My guess he'd be on 600k.

Kennedy will be on close to a mill on his next contract. But goodes, Bolton and maybe a couple of others will be retiring about that time, so will free up cap space.

Kurt may become our highest payed player, but only for a short time.
