They never really had a chance of doing a deal with Tippett. That's why they're so furious. They carved out an $800k space for him in 2013 and he still said no.

Yep and still smashed us and we were premiers all that. No room for complacency as one slip and the season can be over before hubris has time to set in. Tippett is just one more step in a neverending process of continuous improvement.

Especially Naismith; we were calling for them to pick him up way back weren't we. I know I and some others were rather taken with seeing him in the breaks taking instruction from The Whisperer, and a) being amused at the extreme height disparity, and b) seeing him go out and try out the learned ones instructions. I am fairly sure we called him a quick study.
