    Tippett!!

Don't know if that's going to work, but they could try and argue a case for him to be able to play reserves or some form of competitive footy! To be ruled out of all competitive footy until round 12 is going to really hinder him, he may not hit his straps until deep into the seAson. He may not hit them all! Most players in the comp will have played about 15 games of nab cup and home and away footy by the time Kurt plays a game of any kind. Big set back.

Not so bad that he's missing the first half of the season. Only half the chance of getting a concussion. He'll miss the Crows game. Will be well rested for the finals. Gives a number of other players the opportunity to show what they can do (Walsh, White), even just for trading purposes at the end of the season.

I think it was the Swans that demanded the 11 week suspension, and Vlad rolled over, because there certainly was no justification based on the evidence.

        Tippett!!

Why would the swans demand Tippett receive an 11 week suspension ?

Just joking about that part, but do think that there are a few advantages of having Tippett sit out the first half of the season.

I also had commented earlier that I suspected that there were some negotiations around this whole affair that assured Tippett would get to the Swans, but really have no inside knowledge about this whatsoever. But as others have commented, Tippett's penalty far exceeded his crime, especially when compared to what some of the others got. I think Caro Wilson also made a similar comment.

That is incredibly awesome. He's so blunt about owning Adelaide.

Great. I for one am happy.

              This thread is too long.

No question it'll take time for him to become match fit but I reckon by the finals he'll be up to speed and contributing exactly the way the Swans want him to. Imagine if we are a top 4 side and a fit and firing Kurt Tippett with a point to prove gets added to the mix.

Could be a slight problem there - surely the 'experts' won't have us making the finals?????

As I've said many times I really couldn't give a rats what the experts say about us. The only belief I'm interested in is self belief. Having said that being reigning premiers and having a deep list I don't think flying under the radar will be an option next year.

God what an awful Today Tonight style article!

The deal guarantees Tippett a cool $72,700 a game - more than $2000 better than the average Aussie's yearly income.

Trying to make people choke into their cornflakes as Aussie Battlers struggle to make ends meet - I'm pretty sure major professional football players are going to earn that money no matter what is happening in Main Street Australia. Such a ridiculous article. I don't understand how people can digest that crap.

Well, it was originally in the Advertiser. The Adelaide press is still bitter.

I was being a teensy bit tongue in cheek there - I think we smashed that pesky radar this year anyway....

I just watched the brief interview on the Swans website, I already thought the guy seemed like a dream for the marketing department but now I'm completely sold on it- absolute soft ball interview, as you'd expect, but he spoke very well to camera and you can guarantee that they'll be rolling him out for media duties in years to come.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I can't afford Corn Flakes so I'm outraged by Tippetts Salary. Now if the club can send me some Nutri Grain I might feel differently.

Seriously though it does smack of sensationalism and for mine has no journalistic merit. Imagine my shock that it's in a News Limited publication.
