Plugger's signing was probably this club's biggest ever. I wonder how many pages a Plugger signing thread would have gotten.....

This thread is miniscule compared to the Tippet thread on the Adelaide Big Footy Board. Get on there and start reading from post 1. I bet I finish War & Peace before you finish the thread. Some amazing comments.

Yeah, but if you exclude the posts that whinge & whine, our thread would lose 10 posts ... their thread would be non-existent.

            BBBH?
            Capper's return?
            Laurie Nash's return?
Dermie (even tho he was a plonker)

Did you ever hear Colless speaking on what Dermie did for the Swans in terms of promotion ? It was quite illuminating.

Say more, undy. I was on the fringe of things at the time and thought it was not a good way to go. If it benefited the club in any way I'm interested to know.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Apparently he was great at the promotions stuff, they would wheel him out all over the place and he was very effective and worked hard at it. Colless identified him as one of the key people in that timeframe in starting to promote the club and get members.

I was very surprised, but I reckon Colless usually says it the way it is/was.

It was on the ABC Sunday Profile interview
It's here Richard Colless, Sydney Swans Chairman - Interview from Sunday Profile - (ABC)
                  About 6 minutes in.

He could well be rushed back into the team this week - lord knows he is needed.....

He's made of no frills cling wrap... I wouldn't go rushing him anywhere.
Knowing our bloody luck, he'll come back and get a concussion five minutes into the game.

                            ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.

                                Busted his rib, eh?

                                Oh dear.

I'm serving up fries... to eat with your words.

                                Paper mache.

Kurt Tippett is out of Saturday night's match against Melbourne with a broken rib sustained in the reserves
