Not feeling confident about finals this year. From my observations over 20 years the flag is won by a top team that has minimal injuries and that isn't us this year.

Happy for anyone to prove my thoughts on history are wrong by showing who has woin a flag with a significant number of key players unavailable.

If we can get Shaw, Jetta & Goodes back at least, it won't be so bad. Probably can't call it a 'crisis' if we get those guys back.

i dont think there is any reason why we cant beat any team in the comp with a strong compliment of key players

i am very confident of winning all games to finish

Typical. Rain stays away. Hawks easily beat Port. Cats flog Melbourne. All too easy. Unless you're the Sydney Swans - that's when Port and Melbourne turn up to play and turn on their best performances of the year.

As long as we keep winning it doesn't matter by how much plus Hawthorn thrashed teams last year but didn't win the GF.

Fairest way would be to just take Essendon's points and don't neutralise hard fought wins by teams who have beaten them. Also the teams that play them twice would be given a freebie compared to those who play them once. The only way for it to work and not comprise other teams wins and losses is to say that Essendon will be penalised, say, 30 points and not attach these to any games.
If the Bombers are docked point they will not be awarded to teams beaten on the field - fullstop!

I think our top 4 chances hav more to do with essendon's fortunes than hawthorn's. at this stage one and two belongs between Geelong and Hawthorn. Hopefully Essendon gets docked so we go to third and win it from there again

I think it's going to come down to how Freo do. They play lots of middle of the table teams; West Coast, Richmond, Port, Carlton. If they drop one or two of those, it would give us some breathing room in our games against Geelong and Hawthorn. I can't see us winning both of these (or on a bad day, even one of them) and we have a couple of danger games against West Coast, Richmond and Collingwood.

If Essendon get stripped of points we'll probably be ok, but the words I hear from the AFL are worrying. It sounds like they are preparing to give them a slap on the wrist.

Come on West Coast and Bulldogs. Help out a Swan in need.

Bulldogs failed. Eagles up by 2 at three quarter time.

Looking very close indeed, dont think I've ever barracked for the West Coke Eagles before, but desperate times call for desperate measures

Had been thinking the same. Adelaide could still be our best friend if they pull off a few upsets over the rest of the season.

If we keep winning our destiny and a top 2 finish are possible. Would really have been a good result to beat rather than draw with freo.

Essendon will be stripped of Premiership Points, so Top 4 is a near certainty.

Dont assume anything about the investigation or the consequences. I can see Vlad trying to get the club docked in the future by way of draft picks and fines and be much more reluctant to impact on them on the field. You can already see his position from his quotes on friday where he was harking back to the initial asada/acc report.

we have to keep winning and hope to jag a top four finish but i see us finishing 5th. In reality i dont see that as being hugely different to finishing 3rd or fourth anyway. Our path to the grand final is likely to require us defeating geelong or hawthorn on a friday or saturday at the mcg. id be happier if that was in a qualifying final but it is likely to be in a preliminary final if we can maintain our form.

To even reach a prelim, we'd have to play one of the top 4 AWAY in a semi.

If lamb, jack, rampe, everrit and white are all still in the team we are no chance. If we can atleast get 2-3 of goodes, reid, jetta, shaw then maybe.

Rohan would very be handy too.

Essendon semi- geelong/hawks prelim and freo in the grand final would be the dream run.
