Rohan would very be handy too.

Essendon semi- geelong/hawks prelim and freo in the grand final would be the dream run.
I can see how you'd argue a case for some of these but Rampe? Maybe you think AJ shouldn't have played in the GF last year, too?

And I seriously doubt they'll play Rohan in finals with a rod in his leg until the off-season. One bad leg collision and the Rooster would be plucked. That would be a tragic end to a good news story. Just like the possibility that we could go back-to-back without Benny, again.

Rampe would be the last of that group left in. I said we need to get atleast 2-3 seniors back. Rampe is fairly safe ubless lrt comes back.

Mcveigh has already said if he puts 4 weeks of good reserves together, rohan can play seniors this year.

Providing any major mishap, rohan will be back this year.

They say Rohan's leg has been 100% healed for some time, and that the concerns are associated injuries. So I'm not sure if getting whacked in the leg again would be any different to any other player being whacked in the leg, aside from the psychological impact. I think he will play seniors if he plays Reserves consistently without incident for a few weeks.

How likely is this though in all honesty? And by when should the decision of this occur?

Does anyone rate Essendon this year? Will be hilarious is they take it out and allowed to keep it.

              I don't.
Even if they don't lose points over the drugs thing, I think they have the hardest run of the three teams vying for third and fourth so I see them as the team to miss out. As long as we win the games we should ie all the remaining games up to Cats and Hawks, we should finish top four.

I tend to agree. There's no difference between a knock to the leg in seniors and a knock to the leg in the reserves. If he isn't sufficiently healed to be playing seniors, he wouldn't be playing reserves. The only questions are how the leg responds to playing footy (at any grade) and match fitness/touch.

With no medical knowledge I recall hearing that an injury while the rod is still in can be catastrophic. And sure he could be injured in reserves too but seniors is played at a much faster pace and harder so it's more likely there. I hope he's a 10-year player for us and it was great to see him out and about yesterday. It would be great to see him in the seniors again this year but not if it risks his long-term career. Then again, I'm sure the Swans have his best interests in mind - mentally and physically - so when he is selected for seniors I'll be as enthused as anyone. Another running goal at Kardinia Park?

Back to the subject but Hawthorn, dare I say it, does have some mental wobblies???
Geelong has show that time and again.
If we got them in the semi, and won, that would send them to do battle with Freo and then Geelong in a Prem.
I just know for sure we want to avoid Freo and Geelong so we must win that semi, same as last year.
The week's break almost always means a GF spot!

If you saw AFL 360 tonight, it would appear that Essendon will not be docked points. ASADA appears to have told them the substance in question is not banned. So I think we are in a three way dog fight with Freo and Bombers for a Top 4 spot.

You're right on here. The game is becoming a joke in so many areas. In Essendon's case, it is OK to inject players with anti-obesity drugs. We are meant to believe that they are not performance enhancing. Well, a football club does nothing that's NOT performance enhancing. That is the point of football clubs.

According to this article - http://news.com.au/sport/afl/where-w...-1226680333288 - Freo have the easiest run home in the comp. Top 4 is going to be tricky from here.

It always was going to be hard once we started picking up long term injuries - all we can do is hope the side gives their best every week and let the pieces fall where they may.
