The footy gods are smiling upon the Swans lately. Just a couple of stars back from injury now and we'll be sittin' pretty.

"Yellow and Black" - I do love their song. 2nd best in the League.

So long as we finish top 4 and don't have to go to Freo for a final

Well... if we beat the Bulldogs tomorrow, forget 2nd, the minor Premiership is in reach also!

With Freo winning tonight, they are certain to finish the rest of the H and A season undefeated, so we are going to have to continue to win.

Freo are a tough proposition across the ground. They are absolutely relentless. And they have some serious goal kicking talent, led by Michael Walters. They will be even stronger once Pav and McFarlin return.

One thing I noticed that Freo do better than any other team, and I think we should do it too: They don't try to corral the man with ball (which we usually do), they go right at the man as fast as possible and force him to make a decision. It is virtually impossible to make 5 consecutive high pressure decisions like that without making an error. That's what makes them so effective. I feel that if we copied that sort of pressure tactic we would be unbeatable. Maybe we're unbeatable anyway.

Note on the commentary of the game: BT makes watching footy on TV almost unbearable. There's got to be something in the ASADA rules that gives that moron a lifetime ban from broadcasting. First I thought it was Fremantle's style of football that was annoying, but then realised it was Brian Taylor.

There were a series of passages of play that weren't commentated on because they all went off on some random stat about Lingy or some such, while having a chuckle. Do they just take it for granted that everyone has great eyesight and know all the players better then they do? 7 is a joke.

Who would you rather we faced in the first week of the finals?

If QF, its either Hawthorn, Geelong, Freo, Essendon
If EF, its likely to be Port or Pies (as we'll finish 5th and one of those 2 will likely finish 8th)
Looking out for good omens which can bring the Swans the 2007 premiership

With Freo likely to win their last 4, jostling for positions in the top 4 is incredibly tight. If Essendon lose today will make the permutations a bit simpler.
Last two games are going to be massive.

Just finished watching the the Adelaide Derby. Lewis Johston took a mark on the 50 and had a man open to seal the game, but instead strayed the ball in the direction of a couple of Port players. Port came back to win a miracle game in the final seconds. Chad Wingard is an absolute star.

A little breathing space in terms of assuring our place in the top 4. 1.5 games ahead of Essendon with 4 to go.

After this weekend, if we win every game from here we are on top.

Certainly the Collingwood game next week is a must win to secure a certain top 4 spot.

A team certain to win every game! That is the most ridiculous comment I have seen on here this year. They may well win every game, but nothing is certain in footy as this weekend has made evident.
