Have we considered Naismith as an in? Tall enough to keep Sandilants honest

I know that he is not as match fit as he could be, however very tall and could be worth a trail... (since we have been playing very tall all year..)

Mummy and Pikey to take most of the second ruck and let Naismith take the key... Stretch them around the ground....

Very early in his career but for what I could see was dominate in the 2nds

Naismith? Um.. No. Spent a large part of this season injured, he is only just learning, he is good, but he has about 2 years to go......He is big but he is about two preseasons NOT AFL finals ready.

Want to make an observation today. I wondered what on earth Drey Everett was doing 'out there' and was ready to hang him. Of course in the replay I could see a helluva lot of second and thirds. He is so much bigger than he was and is starting to put the grunt work in. Salute to you young man.

Taking others to Freo, I would definitely consider BJ. He has played there (kicked 4 if I remember rightly against WC) and mantra is definitely No Fear. If he has settled enough into not having to compete with his bro, and I think he has the maturity to attain that, then as a crumber he could be a gem.

He wouldn't be the first to improve form by going back to the ressies.
Fair enough, but I'm not sure a prelim against Freo is the time to have another look at him.....For mine, next year in the early rounds.

Plus the side really put their foot down in the 3rd quarter and ran Carlton ragged, resulting in the 50 point margin they enjoyed at 3/4 time. So they were entitled to feel a little weary in the final quarter.
I thought someone on here had mentioned that JPK was rested during the last quarter, meaning we were down another rotation. Also didn't Horse say the lads were instructed to take it easy in the last quarter, hold play up, defend the lead. Along with Macca being moved down back to control play.

I don't know why the Swans are even going over as everyone in the media have written them off. Jon Ralph said on KBs show a few minutes ago that Richards shouldn't be playing and should have been suspended - well suck it up Melbourne he is playing. I think the Melbourne media are still getting over it won't be a Hawthorn/Geelong grand final. Go Swans.

Yawn - the media have written us off more times than I can remember. I don't expect us to win this weekend, in fact I expect Freo to do it comfortably after a tough early battle. But I do know I would not at all be suprised if we beat them either.

Naismith is a long term project - certainly absoutely nowhere near ready for seniors consideration, especially in a preliminary final.

The Prelim final is not a time for experimentation.

TA will get one last shot next year I'd think. Dominating the midfield in the NEAFL is an entirely different proporsition to playing well in a cut-throat prelim final. I'd prefer Biggs to stay than bring in TA to be honest.

Towers is seriously quick and has a tremendous leap. You can see why we took him as our 1st pick last year. Hard to know how he would adjust to playing in PF as a first game. Is still a work in progress thought. But would take him over Rohan if we were looking for additional speed.

Mathew Dick is also very quick and a good size. If we can improve his decision making, he could be something.

Alex Brown is another speedy and skillful tall player and looks very likely to make the big time.

Naismith is easily quicker than Mummy or Pykey and is very agile for such a big man.

Jake Lloyd can walk up and play senior footy now. He has the footy brain of a 300 game veteran. He does everything instinctively well and has the look of a future captain. You can see why he won the coaches award for best TAC player. Cannot believe we got him as a rookie.

Based on performance, Tony Armstrong deserves another shot in the seniors. He's constantly on the move and has excellent skills. You can see that he's worked on his tackling while in the ressies. I would play him before Biggs, or make Biggs the sub. Although we are all pleased with how well Biggs has played in his 2 games, Armstrong's added experience would be a bonus. I'd play him before Lamb as well.
Alex Brown is an interesting one. In the reserves games I've watched this year, he's look cool, calm and composed. The canberra based commentators for NEAFL have absolutely gushed over him the last three matches, so he must be doing something right. But then again, he has now been on the list 3 years as well.

Jake Lyold is going to be a very fine player indeed - I fully expect him to break into the seniors and stay there sooner rather than later.

I've heard a million reasons why Chappie should have got off, yet Teddy should have been suspended.

                    The logic is amazing.

Alex Brown was taken in the 2011 draft so he has been here 2 years. He came to us after hip surgery and did not have a pre-season in 2012. This year he has been exceptional and will only improve with another pre-season.

I think Jake Lloyd has been held back due to his slight build. The development staff don't want to see one of our hot prospects hurt in the big league. He played well in the NAB Cup but the H & A season is not the NAB Cup. The NAB has a lot of players like Jakie who are not yet developed.

Sam Naismith is a work in progress and is progressing very well but not yet Josephine as you say and definitely not in the prelim.

Ins; LRT (I am against playing non match fit players but this bloke showed enough to say he'll be ok), Lamb, Benny, Towers & Armstrong.

                      Out; Tippett & Mitchell

From an article this morning it looks like Benny will be in. At least he has the desperation to get the medallion all his mates have.

Agree that your 5 Ins are the ones to choose from, with Benny looking the most likely to be one if proved fit. Towers looks to be the longshot, but would be an interesting x-factor sub inclusion. The probable wet conditions may play a part as well.
