    +1

Love Rampe's progress this year but Smiffy is a rare gem and I am sure Swans wouldn't let him go unless he wants out. Remember reading that part of the Bloods culture includes players making their own choices on when they buy-in and when they check out.

I'll start off by saying that I absolutely do not want to lose Smith, but if we do - how would Biggs go in that role? Biggs debuted as a straight swap for Smith - the first debutant in a while to not get the vest.

didnt Kirk trial with us 3 times before he made it

and made it he did Bro........made it he did !

no one wants to loose a champion like Smithy but if it is best for the squad and the squad comes first then that is the coaches call.......who knows....smithy might be here in 2014 anyway but I am just making a call that we could see with another preseason.........with another half a season of learning to be great at the little things in defence ie your man first and foremost then Rampe could......COULD starting making serious ground in the Smithy role by mid season

lets see as it will be an interesting ride either way

He has come on leaps and bounds this year and one would think has a bit of improvement in him last year. Hopefully AJ can make a full recovery and Gary Rohan will be much better after a full pre-season.

Add in Brandon Jack, Cunningham and a couple of others and there are at least half a dozen players who could improve 10-20% next season.

Future is bright, I'm looking forward to getting back into the habit of watching the twos again next season
Just on the point of promising players. I see in his interview on the swans website, Sam Reid indicated he was a big fan of Jed Lamb. Why Lamb did not play a finals was surprising.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jake Lloyd Perris (meaning either one or both) would become a good small defender one day. Good skills and footy smarts for a young player.

Shane Biggs just doesn't have the body mass that Rampe has. And he never will. He is built like Captain Kirk. All sinue (sic) and bone, but strong enough - just probably not going to develop a rigg of awesomeness.

So yes a running off the backline defender, but last line of defence a la Teddy? and for that matter AJ too, no. He's a keeper though. Probably will make a very good tagger come to think of it.

Biggs knows how to find the footy and use it very well, but I'm not sure he's a lockdown type player. Going on Ressies watchers, the reason he wasn't rated a good chance at getting into regular senior footy was his weak defensive skills. And that he seemed to play well regularly without really imposing himself on the outcome. Am I twisting words here or is this what was a bit of a consensus during the season Ressies watchers ? ( until his debut of course )

The talent in our club at the moment is frightening.

What chance Membrey getting a chance next year?

Also, talk by Emma Quayle on GWS being interested in Bernie Vince from the Crows. Would be another good signing by them along with Mummy and Shaw. Exactly the type of players they need though need at least another 3-4 to be competitive.

I have heard so much about this Lloyd Perris, but I have never seen him. Is there a video floating around showing either one of them playing?

NEAFL grand final against Brisbane. Watch for about the first 10 minutes and you will get a snapshot of their play - Lloyd Perris is 47 and Jake Lloyd is 44.

                          1. If Tippo and Buddy kick 30 goals per match between them, the opposition will never get the ball, and therefore won't trouble our defenders.

                          2. Get Joel Tippett. Why TF wouldn't you?

At reserves level his disposal was almost always effective, but I certainly didn't see a lot of his defensive skills. His debut form was a very pleasant surprise, I didnt expect such a great performance in the firsts - it reminded me of Reg Grundy's in that the performance was better than expected . . . And seemingly better than their performance in the 2's.

Seems like both Mummy and Jesse will go cheap, third rounders by all the talk surely they are worth more than that.

Nope, I'm certain I heard one of the Swans management on radio this week ... "Ugg is a required fan for 2014, he won't be going anywhere. Plus we have no interest in Demetriou's salary as we understand we would have to take Demetriou himself as part of the trade, which of course would break our no dickheads rule".
