Reported that North are offering pick 47 for for out-of-contract Lion Patrick Karnezis, who was taken at pick 25 in the same draft as Jed Lamb, and probably at around the same stage of development. Maybe that's an indication of Lamb's value.

It's a real worry what is happening to Brisbane at the moment. It's worse than crisis level. The only good thing about it is that the AFL will have to take notice of what can happen if you remove the incentives for NRL territory clubs, even for one of the biggest on-field success stories.

I thought Lamb was progressing perfectly given his injuries. We need classy forward/midfielders. ROK's in his final year or so and McGlynn's pace doesn't make up for his woeful disposal.

On the upside, no more Lamb puns.

If the Swans had waited until the final day of trade to do the Mumford deal, then GWS would have had no time to line up Jed Lamb up as well. The Swans could have then put pressure on GWS to package them both up for a decent pick or not pick up one or both in the PSD as there may be a better player available than Lamb and Mumford.

Next year teams will not do any deals until the final day with teams who have high picks in the PSD!
I agree, on the surface it appears the Swans were outsmarted, and it's probably cost us a pick in the early 20's (for Mummy and Jed packaged), instead of pick 35.

Can't see us getting anything meaningful for Jed now.

We'll need to be on guard for future dealings with them.....

In other words please let's not do a deal for Lamb until the last few minutes of the trade period...

Otherwise we may be having the same discussion Re: Everitt going for their No. 1 PSD pick

He took a long time to come good, now look at him. BSM, again.

Lack of opportunities might be the real issue.
It is what it is when you have to be blunt. It's definitely too early to write him off. He's not a failure. The disappointment part is mainly attributed to his bad luck with injury. I wouldn't think there is anyone on the site that would be in favour of delisting him. The club and us i'm sure were happy to keep putting time into him under the right situation. But situations change, and I can see why he has wanted to leave due to lack of chances this year, and players coming back next year.

I wish him all the luck in the world, and will follow him closely!

Yup. It certainly carries a considerable amount of weight if wielded correctly.

Agree! Why don't we just let Jed Lamb go into the PSD. We won't use a pick lower than 44, so there is no point getting one for the sake of a deal!

GWS will then be faced with the reality that they will have to take Lamb at pick 1 in the PSD.

A better player will be available in the Pre Season Draft than Lamb and they may withdraw the deal that they have offered Lamb.

Lamb will then have to sign for the Swans or hope the system treats him well!

We can afford to play hardball here. With Mummy we really needed a top 40 pick for him, which we got.

Unless they offer up something worthwhile then the PSD it is as far as I am concerned. Jed will still be able to go there but it may stuff up some of their other plans. Silvagni is their list manager, a dodgy cheat when he played and I daresay he is quite canny in his role at GWS

Letting Lamb go to the PSD only makes Everitt available for Melbourne or StK.

It's bad for us, but it does give the weaker teams a leg up and a chance to be more competitive sooner, which is not a bad thing from a broader perspective.

As soon as Rohan returned from injury it soon became evident where Lamb stood in the pecking order. Ask yourself would you have Rohan or Lamb? Lamb knew the answer to that as well so chose to be employed elsewhere. We will give him a reference and wish him good luck.

I'd be happy to see Dre at Melbourne, or even StK. They both need him more than we do, and would regularly play him in the firsts.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

So, GWS have said they will do a deal for Lamb rather than PSD....

If it's a player swap that suits us, that's fine.....

If it's for pick 48, let him go through to the PSD.

They must have their eyes on someone else with their No.1 PSD pick.
