I'll take your word for it Melb, personally I can't face anything to do with footy at the moment except this site as I know we are all hurting together.
Since the debacle I have not opened a newspaper, deleted all the footy shows I had IQ'd before I went to Melbourne and I have not looked at either the Swans or AFL website - I am an ostrich!Comment

Can't bring myself to watch the game either.Comment

We really need a "silky" skilled mid, one who can hit a target in the clear.
A Pendlebury style player. I've watched him drag the pies across the line a few times but winning the ball in traffic and getting to the free target. Player like him always amaze me.
Whilst we have some great midfielders, not many of them have that "silky" skill. They are more a bash, crash and kick to any one type.
Maybe young Tom is the answer I'm looking for. Maybe he can be that player.
Reports today that North and one other club are interested...perhaps it's us.Twitter @cmdil

cant we let it go. the hawks and the swans have both recruited well.
we had an advantage with the cap. we did. to the extent that it was an advantage it will shortly go.
forwards always command bigger salaries than defenders. its the way of the world in nearly every sport. maybe the hawks have just had a great salary scale for an extended period. who knows ?
The part that most of us here find galling, is that the Swans get singled out as cheating/manipulating the salary cap. With no mention of the players/cap space cleared.
Another example of the double standards.....I hear that Geelong look like getting Clark, and are still in the hunt for Frawley.
They would cost collecively much more than Buddy, but this doesn't, and shouldn't, raise an eyebrow with the commentators.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

If you get the chance watch the game again.[B] We won the contested ball but fed it again to a contest. Our spare men were never damaging. They used the ball to the spare man and then fed it to the man playing on Goodes and Parker. Mcglynn would then chase until he blew up and then there was no pressure. The four tall forwards were exploited defensively horribly. Ie it wasn't workrate at least not initially. It was us having talls like Reid Goodes and Tippett who couldn't put any pressure on their exits and them having Puopolo Rioli Breust who did the exact opposite.Where's the remote?Comment

Anyone that doesn't want to be there let em go doesn't matter who they are ,there all tainted and de valued . The fans have more heart than some of the players !Comment

Agree we need a permanent small forward. But I don't think we need to trade one in as we have our own Jetta and I think Cunningham is being wasted as a run with player. Both have speed that can provide defensive pressure. McGlynn has come on in leaps and bounds as midfielder so I would leave him there as he gets more involved.Comment

This is my latest thinking.
- Trade Hanners to St Kilda for pick one. Draft Petrecca. This saves some salary cap. Petracca is also acknowledged as a very strong and capable half forward
- Trade Craig Bird for an early 2nd round pick. This saves some salary cap and gives Tom Mitchell greater opportunity.
- Only trade Jetta if a good offer from Ross Lyon is revived. We still need his pace.
- Trade Grundy for a 2nd round pick. Saves some more salary cap.
- Recruit James Frawley as a key defender (free agency). The money saved through the trading of Grundy, Bird and Hanners should be enough.
- Recruit Sharrod Wellingham from West Coast for a 3rd round pick. This is a special Buddy project and we back Wellingham to rediscover his Collingwood form.
- Goodes and Shaw retire and Malceski exercises free agency.
This leaves us after the recruitment of Petracca and Heeney in the 1st round with three 2nd round picks.
This is the round one 2015 team.
