The best I ever got as an 18 year old was 12.2. I was so mediocre. I'm training hard now and hope I can beat that at age 34. AFL players and combine prospects are amazing athletes and really show us amateurs up.

How come Heeney played in the game on Saturday, but was injured for this week? Has he got knee troubles that he is managing.

Re Membrey, no doubt he had certain attributes, but: who are the other 188cm lead up forwards starring in the AFL these days?

Recently retired....Fev was about 190, Bradshaw was also about 190....Reasonable players I would of thought.

No offence, but both had more size, bulk, body positioning and speed. For example, Bradshaw played as a key defender at one point in the Brisbane glory years. I can't see Membrey doing that.

I'm not trying to knock the kid as a dud and I thought he had a bit of value as an ok footballer. But some on here are trying to praise him as the next messiah. The honest answer is more towards the first than the second.

very true. but the swans are (over)obsessed the word 'versatile'. fev and bradshaw were pretty much stay-at-home forwards (and bloody good at it too). the swans these days don't seem to want anyone in the 22 unless they can play a few positions (unless of course they fill an absolutely vital roll, like fullback)

All this talk about defenders, what about Laidler???
Xavier Richards is 196, and then there is Aliir???
Are we really that thin on the ground that we are desperate to trade for some KPDs???
Until I actually hear confirmation that Membrey want out I will not believe it.

I don't see the problem with Patfull's age if Sydney are looking to capitalise on a premiership window (which is supposed to be now). Someone can take his spot in 2-3 years, al la Lake/Hawks. Maybe by then it will be X or someone else.

Crameri and Jack Darling are the two that I tend to compare Membrey to. I think he has sufficient attributes to make a go of an AFL career. I'd hope it was with us, but good luck to him if it's not.

Membrey is not going to make or break the Swans, but he did look a promising young player.

I know that I often bag Terry Wallace's judgment, but Terry ranks Callum Mills the #1 rated player in the 2015 draft. Dunkley is also likely to be top 10 and perhaps top 5. Along with Heeney we are looking to add 3 excellent young players to our already quality midfield. We look a bit thin in the KPD depth department, but if we add another couple of draft picks for Malceski and Membrey, we should be able to have at crack a several decent KPP prospects. I am sure Team Beatson have been scouring the country for the best prospects.

More than player movements, it will be interesting to see how Horse structures the side next season and what kind of changes he makes in the game plan.

That should rule out Goodes then.

At this stage in his footy life, he would be about as un-versatile as there is.

We pretty much hid him in the forward line, where, with ball in hand, he could conjure up a couple of goals a game.

On the flip side his defensive opponents were able to run free out of defence with minimal pressure.

I'm sorry to say it, but I'd take a 20 year old Membrey with what he brings to the table now and potentially for many years to come....

...Over a 35 year old Goodes with bung Knees, who has maybe 1 year left in him, probably part time, if all goes well.

So Goodesy is able to dictate to the club if he wants to play on.....

                          Mmmmm

I do not believe we can win a flag in 2015 with Adam Goodes in our starting 22 and I do not mean any disrespect by saying this

In letting him stay we lose a player in Membrey who wanted to stay but who we never gave the chance, Goodsey staying directly ends his career with us - if he goes elsewhere and is a gun we only have ourselves to blame. Surely it was time to go Adam.....

I wouldn't go as far as saying Adam is being selfish as all players wish to play as long as possible. I do think he should have retired and I think the club should have made the decision for him.

All I can say after seeing some of his average performances this year is that he better have a good 2015 or it won't only be the away supporters he starts getting stick from

Couldn't agree more, the bloke was a liability this year and will be an embarrassment next year.

We now have our own red and white sacred cow, what the hell is going on at our club right now?

At the risk of sounding like Matt80, I'd bundle up Membrey and Reid for the Doggies first round draft pick.

Jetta is also worth Freo's first round pick imo

Knows he doesn't need the draft combine and he's going to the Swans. Why bust a gut and show the Melbourne media what a gun we have got under the "cheating academy rort"!
