All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Disappointing but its the right call I know we need picks for draft points but we should try to trade for Tom Barras from the Eagles or Scott LycettComment

Fair enough to him but the real leverage here is not with WC or Freo, but Lewis and his manager: wanna get there, not gonna happen via PSD so go get us a good deal. In my mind, late-teen pick or Sinclair from WC, or equivalent from Freo.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Perhaps we could ask for 2 second rounders instead, as 707 said they are worth more to us when trying to get mills!!!!Comment
-
Correct, do something with our first rounder during trade period and use mid second rounders for the points instead. So many permutations. Wow, trade week will be the best ever!Comment

Does feel like this could be the most important off season since 09 when we set ourselves up for our next flag.
Fitzturdricks trade ban don't help but sure we can work our way through'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Fair play to Jetta - I always felt he would be leaving, you just get a gut feeling about these things. I wish him all the best and whilst I understand his reasons it will be a bit hard to take if he goes to the Weagles after the events there this year. I bet it is an offer well over what we can come up withComment

Dunks if he isn't too expensive, Sam Naismith can be upgraded. I'd also bring in the next best academy kid and two players via the trade table - a ruckman and a defender.
Out will be Goodes, Jetta, Shaw, Bird Robbo and one other I believe.
I think we'll look at the possibility of a player plus pick from the Weagles or Freo and that we'll try and get a Ruckman with that pick plus possibly Bird and/or RobboComment

If Mills and Dunks go at 4 and 16 respectively and we just use our expected picks (pre FA adjustments) then my calcs so we will be about 400 points in deficit. That will take our first round pick the following year back from 15 to 27 based on a fourth finish.
We could still use our currency from Jetta and whatever we get for Bird/Robbo to try and get the couple of required players we need.Comment

Dear Swans
You've been very kind in the past helping players go where they want for their best interests (Jolly, Rocca etc) and I wish Jetta well as a premiership player. But please don't get shafted on the deal that gets him home. He's not a free agent, or a restricted FA; he's got some currency; he might "need" to get home, but we need something out of this situation too.

If I was an WA team looking at the video highlights of Jetta last few putrid games, I would say no, we have better young player than that, why waste our time!!
I think you people are kidding yourself with a first round pick for Jetta for one reason; both team finished finished first and second, do they really have holes in their line up, do they really need a player of Jetta dubious quality??
They just don't need him, and we will be lucking to get a second round pick for him.doof-doofComment
