Anyway... enough Buddy contract talk, this thread is about trade targets.

Would anyone consider any Demons like Toumpass or Watts? I find it ridiculously hard to judge whether these guys have been poor due to their ability, or poor due to their environment. (I'm talking purely if they'd be considered for the squad - prior to working out what we'd have to give)

Reality. Just Reality, many think that we are so close to another flag, we are not even close and going further away.....

I don't understand this view of us being miles away from a flag. The core of our squad is very solid and fairly young, plus at least we can freshen up a few roles now that we can half-trade this year.

I asked her where she heard it but she doesn't remember bless her.
(I got her as a mature age rookie and we're on a 'death do us part' contract so no option to trade her out! ) Her delivery into the top of the kitchen table is elite too.
Don Pyke sounds the most logical mixup.

The ATM in Rundle Mall is the biggest Adelaide financier I can think of!

I think it was an interview with Lukey where he said the group will be focussing on skills over the summer... that's probably half our trade worries fixed right there.

I like idea of Watts playing half back and being the playmaker with his good kicking skills. Would also be a handy 3rd tall in defence

              Negative doesn't always equal reality.

We've got a couple of holes in our list but overall, it's still a very strong squad. Flags are very hard to win so I'm not sure when the next one of those will be but that can't be the only measure of success in an 18 team comp. Keep putting yourself in the finals and top 4 and you give yourself a chance to snag one.

I remember similar doom and gloom across 2007-2011. We were going nowhere. Mid-table finishes weren't going to get us the ultimate. It turned out to be complete crap. Aim to be competitive every year and things will happen for you.

Horse plays a straight bat with the media. That doesn't mean he says the same stuff to the players and he's not up to date with the latest coaching tactics.

Yarran is an interesting one. If his price is a draft pick in the 20's. Then perhaps he is worth pursuing.

He's not great at the defensive stuff but he reads the game really well, is quick and evasive, and a beautiful field kick...

He would therefore compliment our current defensive unit.

He would be a good replacement for Jetta, we might also improve our draft points situation a little....

He grew up a Swans supporter. If he bought in to our culture he could be an excellent addition.

What we need, apart from a new coach, is a ruck and defender.

Michael Talia we need to get, being a free agent; his stats are Height:194 cm Weight:94 kg. This will mean we can replace Teddie ASAP.

Also we need to trade to the Gold Coast for Smith and Bennell at whatever price, included any first round picks.

Love Pike, but he is shot, and although Smith is not the best going around, he is mobile and can do the job. His stats are Height:205 cm Weight:100 kg

                  Bennell is talent, and talent is what we need, not more average players like Towers; stats Height:185 cm Weight:74 kg;

Add Mills Height: 188 cm Weight: 80 kg, who will a big star like Mitchell and Heeney and we have a really red hot team.

Dunkley is not coming to the swans, as he would have nominated us by now if he really wanted too.

He wants Richmond, but they have a lot trades to complete, so he may still come to us, but anyone may be able to snare him.

And I do agree with the grist of the article: Longmire really has no new tricks to pull.

The sling shot has come and gone, and whats left is not much at all.

As noted before, our skill levels are going backward, but how does this happen to elite athletics???

Surely they should be improving, but if they are not, the coaching team must take full responsibility and that means sacking a few of them

I do believe he just signed on for another year, but let's not let that get in the way of you dumping him.
Bennell is a huge risk... he has "issues". I don't think Sydney is the environment for him to try to sort them out.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I would take Watts in an instant for Craig Bird and Lloyd Perris.

Maybe Pyke specialises in Submarine finance and defence financial modelling.

you have to be joking with Watts. Talia and perhaps one of the rucks +a draft pick from eagles for jetta> Bird and Robinson to demons for 22nd rounder or third.

Given Roos hasn't been able to get anything worthwhile out of Watts, what chance Horse?....Nil I'd think.

If Watts was taken pick 25, most would think he's a handy enough Footballer. Hasn't delivered to pick 1 standards but he's not a complete hack. Melbourne overrating his talent isn't his fault.

Watt's has all the tools to be a brilliant footballer. Skills, pace, height and good game sense.

Being in a new non AFL city that does not monitor his every move would bring back his love for the game.

Roos and Longmire are different people. Different players will respond to different personalities.

Cant really blame a coach for skill errors during the games with Mal leaving last year it just exposed how bad our defenders skills were. I think Dane Rampe should move into the midfield our midfield is undersized against Freo Kanga's now the Dogs, he's big bodied strong quick has a long kick played midfield in juniors. And Tommy Mitchell gets 30+ but needs to clean up his ball use just hacks it forward.
