I have floated this before but I wonder if we could turn Jack Watts into a defender? We have taken maligned under performers from Victoria and polished them previously. He has great character by all reports and undoubted potential and may be available at a reasonable price. Or am I simply delusional? ????Comment

There would be few more supportive of Jets over his whole career than I have and I will be devo if he leaves, but if he is determined to move back home, I see the above scenario as a win. Certainly better than Mummy for nothing...Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

Operation get Bennell.
We HAVE to get this bloke.
Hear me out. We all know what he's like off-field. I agree, it is a risk. But it's a risk that if it doesn't work out, he can be delisted or traded, and he's out of the club. Similar to the Hawks going for Dayle Gartlett. He stuffed up, he was goners.
Listening to Wayne Carey on triple M yesterday he was saying the reason so many footballers go off the rails in Gold Coast is plain and simple, the lifestyle up there and the way everyday footballers live. The amount of off-field things happening at that club is a sign that most of the blokes simply are peanuts off field and their is a terrible leadership culture at Gold Coast.
We have a great culture at the swans and I'm sure we can nurse Harley and turn him into the player he can and has shown he can be.
He is an absolute gun and would easily replace Jetta if he was to leave. Bennell, Hannebery, Parker, Kennedy, Jack, McVeigh, Mitchell, Heeney. Wow.
Get it done Kinnear. We would be effectively getting a number one draft pick for a second rounder. Absolute bargain if it works out.LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

If we want to get Bennell, Goodes has to play another season and maybe Harley living with Goodes. It appears that Harley requires a strong indigenous leader to guide him in life and footy. Could be a top 5 player for 6-7 years.Comment

Jaeger O'meara might be available at the end of next year, (out of contract) and is looking for something similar to Patfull and is buying an investment property in St Kilda and is extremely ambitious about the business side of his life.
Sydney is the Capital of Business and Finance and after saving money by letting go the list cloggers and some retirements, Sydney is in the pole position and NO TRADE BAN.
Not much avaiable with free agancy next year with Jack Riewoldt and Todd Goldstein the standouts with rest a bit too old to got anymore then 2 or 3 years.Comment

Exactly Troy. The bloke is unbelievably talented and we would be silly, almost negligent, to not look at getting him for a first round pick.
He will thrive in our team/environment. Get it done Beatson.LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

It looks like GWS key forward Cam McCarthy wants to return to WA with Freemantle the likely suitor.
This probably rules out the possibility of the Dockers doing a deal for Jetta in the off season unless they offer their end of season 2016 1st round future pick.
If he wants to go to WA, then West Coast looks the most likely destination.Comment

I know the AFL likes to control their own media, but I do wonder how much the clubs enjoy seeing rumours and speculation being effectively generated and run with by the league itself.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I'd be happy to take a punt on Bennell; extremely talented footballer. Some of his 'offences' seem kind of trivial. Issues that could seemingly be easily resolved in the right environment, and really when did we last hear of a Swan 'mucking up?'
The other player that comes to mind was Curtly Hampton. Seems to be struggling to break into the GWS 22 and strikes me as being quite talented. GWS' issue is that they have had to nurture too many young players at the same time. I reckon his development could be fast-tracked at the Swans. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.
