It started a long, long time ago with Anthony Rocca missing his mummy.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

I agree with all your points. Added a few comments to your post.
I think this years trade period will be about earning points and clearing some space on our list.
It may come down to this:
- Jetta to West Coast for pick 17-20.
I think Jetta is worth something closer to a pick 10. Depending on how the final table pans out, I would be looking for their 1st pick from 2016 plus their 2nd or 3rd rounder from this year. Besides the additional value having next year's pick gives a bit more flexibility.
- Craig Bird to a club like Melbourne for their 3rd round pick. Roos will probably push for an injury depleted Perris to sweeten the deal.
Would be fair for Bird, but I don't think Perris has much trade value, so don't think we should throw him in as an extra. He should be a good player if he can get over his injury problems, which I agree is looking to be a long shot given his history.
- With an extra late 1st round and an early 3rd round we should be able to raise the points for Mills and Dunkley without going into deficit for the next season.
I believe our ruck stocks are good for one more season if Naismith and Toby N can take another step along with the revitalised Tippett.
I would keep Marsh going on the list as he has shown some positive signs and is a good athlete.Comment

Isn't Birdy under contract for a few more years?Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I think he's contracted through next year. But the reality is that he will find it hard to break into the seniors because of the depth of our inside mids. Mitchell has effectively taken his spot. It will be hard enough trying to get games for Hewett, who looks the prototype modern inside midfielder. And then we will have Mills coming next year, who looks to be ready for senior footy the way Heeney was this year.
I really like Bird, but he plays a position where we are exceptionally strong. I think Bird is way too good a player to be languishing in the NEAFL. It's best for his career to find a club where he can be an important part of the senior playing group.Comment

He is probably still a favourite son amongst supporters for his work ethic, devotion to the Swans & performances.Comment

Bird offers inside midfield value to a club who has shortages in this area. The Swans don't have shortages in this area and will only ad more strength with Mills and potentially Dunkley.Comment

Bird is a favourite of mine but I agree that his career will be limited largely to the seconds if he stays. Clubs such as Melbourne would love to have him, and I imagine Carlton would too; or he could go north where I think Brisbane or Gold Coast would welcome him with open arms.He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. Yes he missed his mums Italian cooking. Story goes is that she went up to Sydney to give him good home, mum, cooking. Guess who lured him. Yep, Eddies boy's. Hypocrite.
What about Shannon Grant. The night he got drafted his mum carried on like a pork chop, not wanting him to go to Sydney. After 2 years he went home to stop mums tears. Judging by his off field antics his move had dramatic effects on his life and personality. Poor dear.Comment

He could have been punting to and tackling the Hayne Plane.Comment

I remember seeing the footage of him and his family watching the draft from his home. I don't recall if it was live or not. He was balling his eyes out.Comment

Except he stayed an extra year and Mum and brother were up here with him. Cool story though....Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment
