Dead set overrated is Ryder. Funny how Port did so well in 2014 with Lobbe as No.1 ruckman then in comes Paddy and they have a crock of a 2015.
Ryder added nothing to Port. It was well documented that Port was going to sweep all before them in 2015 now that they had Paddy Ryder. They were all over him like a cheap suit.

Apparently Zac Smith has nominated Geelong. The Cats appear busy this trade period and another ruckman! They are enjoying the running ruckmen.

Will be interesting to see if Geelong are able to get sufficient currency to trade in:

        Dangerfield
        Henderson
        Smith

And if they want Selwood too and WC match their offer (making him a restricted FA), they would have to trade for him too.

Yes I was thinking this too, from my understanding Smith and Henderson aren't free agents? And with Adelaide forcing the cats to trade for Danger, i can't imagine they'd have a lot left to satisfy Carlton and the Gold Coast without giving up some players they would rather keep. The future draft picks are going to be getting a workout.

I've heard Luey was leaning towards Essendon, a decision you would think would be mainly financially based. They'd have more to offer than we would.not too disappointed about that, not a huge fan of his. Smith would've been good for us, that's a shame. Sinclair or Lycett would both be handy. When fit Lycett is ahead of Sinclair at the Eagles isn't he ?

I'm well onboard getting Lobbe if we don't need to sell the farm to get him. Clearly remember sitting at the MCG a few years back watching him dominate against Collingwood in a final.

That said, I'm still confident Naismith has what it takes...

I'd be happy with Lobbe, reckon our first rounder could well get him.

Are we in a position to be trading our first rounder, considering we will need it for Mills?

Provided Mills goes at 4 or later and assuming we get approx an early third rounder for Bird and Robbo which we trade for Talia (or equivalent) then I believe we can.

What may come into question is whether we get Dunkley. I won't bore you with the calculations but by my reckoning if Dunks goes at 30 which seems approximately where people rate him, and also corresponds to Richmond's second round pick then we can still draft him and not go into 2016 with a deficit.

Im not going to do the calculations, if we trade Jetts to eagles for their first round and give that pick to Port for Lobbe

That would what I would expect would do the deal and I reckon Port might be ready to do business.

Port probably feel they have enough in the big men department. Two first rounders gives them good options to either trade in a very good existing player or stockpile their young talent

Garry Lyon saying we're going hard at Sinclair

I can also see this happening, probably more likely than Lobbe, as I always felt that if we traded to the Eagles it would be for a player. Plus whilst they clearly rate Sinclair they do have enough coverage at ruck for next year. Jack Redden is more than likely earmarked for their first rounder and given we are probably play hardball with Jetta if a suitable deal can't be done I can see the Eagles having no choice.

Can't wait for trade week to kick off now....

He didn't have a great GF he's 26 now, he's an elevated rookie i think so probably him and maybe their second or third round pick and use that in the trade with the dogs for Talia if we're still going after him.

If we can drive that deal it would be very good business, even swapping our fourth rounder for their third round pick would have value for us from a points perspective.

Tend to think it will just be a straight swap though, especially if we rate him as highly as Lyon is suggesting
