Well his track record with Ball , Jolly, Mummy and probably most of all Pyke is pretty impressive. He seems to be able to get the most out of the talent he has to work with. Pyke went from useless to nearly All Australian ( in 2012 he was stiff, should've been the 2nd ruck / forward in that side , kicked 30 goals, tap work was superb, also was number one or 2 in the Comp for contested marks that year ) under the guidance of the ruck whisperer. He should be able to coax out whatever talent their is left untapped in Sinclair

These 2015 articles imply Taubert is still involved

I think Sinclair has shown a bit more than those two ever did though. Anyway, I'm trying to be optimistic here! Sinclair has potential, and given more responsibility could thrive under the guidance of the fabled ruck whisperer!!

Will be interesting to see how Dunkley goes in the combine over the next fews days, is Mills participating?

To be fair, Caleb Daniel would probably show more in the ruck than either Mott or Chambers did!

Speaking of rucks, how about a totally speculative rookie pick in Dawson Simpson from Geelong??

28 games in 8 year, after too many injuries, but everyone lucks got to change right??

209 cm, cost us nothing, we don't give up points of picks, and will be better than most if he can stay on the park.

Staying on the park is the problem for all ruckmen it seems!

The issue with Sinclair (and probably Lycett) is that he won't want to leave West Coast. I think he's already stated as much. He's a Perth boy, he's at a club that just played in a grand final, and he has every reason to expect senior footy next year. And West Coast won't want to lose him either. Rucks are notoriously prone to injury, and if they trade out either Sinclair or Lycett, they will leave themselves very exposed. NicNat, in particular, has suffered from groin injuries off and on over the last few seasons. Given the way he plays, that's probably not surprising. For a man that size to run and jump the way he does, there is bound to be some physical toll on him.

It will come down to how badly West Coast want both Redden and Jetta, and how they rank them relative to each other. Both Sydney and Brisbane will be eyeing off either one of West Coast's ruckmen, or West Coast's first round draft pick. Jetta might be seen to be easier to prise out of Sydney, given he is out of contract and determined to go west. Now that Freo and Bennell are courting each other, that probably puts pay to any interest in Jetta that Fremantle might have (and lessens their trade currency, even if they were interested in both). West Coast might argue to Sydney that they could recruit Jetta through the PSD. Even if they don't, it's still a viable threat.

If neither of the rucks is an option, and West Coast's first round pick is offered up to Redden, I really hope they have a go at Barrass. I know he's pretty inexperienced, but he looked very capable in the couple of games he played this year. He probably won't want to leave Perth either, but it might be easier to convince him that he has more chance of senior footy at the Swans than he does at the Eagles, given they have McKenzie (and Brown) to come back into their side. He addresses the other glaring weakness in the Swans' squad, but will the club be willing to punt on someone who may not yet be ready to hold down a key post every week? Are they confident that Ted still has another decent season left in him so that they can ease a less experienced player into the side?
The other currency West Coast has is their possible compensation pick for Selwood, if he decides to leave and they don't match the Geelong offer. Whether it's a band 2 pick (end of first round) is questionable, though.

Sinclair's a Victorian originally I think. Played for Port Melbourne before going to the West.

Sinclair is actually from bayside Melbourne and went to Caulfield Grammar - probably played against JPK in the APS although was a year behind him...

                                My bad.

Still, he's come out and said he doesn't really want to leave Perth. But I guess if it's not "home", there won't be family ties keeping him there, just football club ties.
