We should back XR and Aliir in to help Reg out after Ted retires. Note where Reg ended up in the Bob Skilton Medal - that was a bit of a shock - to me anyway.
The AFL website says we have expressed an interest in Seedsman, but may have our hands full with other targets , Leunberger , Sinclair and Schoenmakers. I would take one of the two ruckman and Seedsman, don't think we need to recruit two ruckman , even if Pyle retires. Schoenmakers would be more than handy, but hoping one of our reserves players can step up to a KP defensive role when the time comes. We should be going hard for Seedaman IMO though, sorely need some dash from half back and he seems to have a touch of class.

Still not clear about Jetta's position. If he is out of contract do West Coast have to trade with us or can he just go there? How long has he been with us? Is he any kind of free agent?

He is not a free agent. He is out of contract. If we can do a trade with WCE (or whichever nominated team) he goes there. If not, he stays with us or goes into the preseason draft.

If the Swans don't do a deal with West Coast, I believe he will sign again with the Swans.

He would be easily picked up in the pre - season draft by Carlton or the Lions. West Coast would not offer him the mega salary that would scare off all clubs before them (Tippett).

His options are limited unless West Coast does a deal that suits the Swans.

Can he retire, spend a season in the WAFL and then join a WA club as a free agent?

Seedsman has good pace but is not a very good kick. I believe he had a few games when he couldn't keep the ball in the park. There's a reason that Collingwood are not trying to hold onto him despite the loss of Josh Thomas to drug suspension and apparently Freeman to St. Kilda. Seedsman couldn't hold a spot in the side despite Collingwood having such a poor back half of the season. Class is what Seedsman lacks.

I think we actually have some good running options available at halfback. My feeling is that Rohan will eventually settle down back as we have so many up and comers with pace (Towers, Hiscox, Rose, BJ) that seem better suited to forward roles. We also have Nic Newman, who has good pace and skills and looks destined for an AFL career. Harrison Marsh also has pace and has played well as a medium defender this season. Zak Jones also has some good pace, although I wouldn't call him a run and carry type player, but he does like to take the game on.

Schoenmakers would make a good addition to our club, but I really can't see why he would leave Hawthorn. On the other hand, I don't see why given an option to play with either Essendon or Sydney that Leuenberger wouldn't choose us. At his age, he is no chance at all to even make it to a prelim final with the Dons. If he's fit, he's a walk up starter for us next year, Pyke or no Pyke. Given that Pyke does look as though he will retire or will be unfit to play next year, I've softened my position on Leuenberger, if he can pass the medical.

Schoenmakers has signed two year deal with Hawthorn: FOX SPORTS News on Twitter: "Premiership winner Ryan Schoenmakers signs a new two-year deal with @HawthornFC #AFL".

I do it every year when watching the draft sizzle reels for certain players but I really, really want us to somehow get our hands on Daniel Rioli! He is exactly the type of player we need! Quick, skillful goal kicking small forward/mid who can also take a mark by the look of his highlights.

We haven't had a player like him in our side for a long time if at all in the last 20 years and I really feel its an area that will really help us improve, with all the weapons we already have!

Sad thing is that he's getting a bit of hype of late and with good results at the combine could push himself up to a late first round, early 2nd round pick that we won't most likely have! ????

I'd prefer us to take Patrick Veszpremi's cousin if he's available!

I'm excited by this signing. Sounds like Col can play footy, but time will tell if he can play at an AFL standard. Could be the next Tadhg and he costs us nothing to sign. Wish the lad all the best. Wouldn't it be good to see another jig in R + W on grand final day?

I am surprised he finished fourth but not surprised about the top ten finish. He was definitely our best defender this year. Much better than Rampe and Smith.
If Smith can stay fit and XR can make a smooth transition with his brother our back line could be back to it miserly self next season. This would lessen our need to trade for a back man.
