I like this, I like the fact we give our draftees three years to prove themselves.
Towers was a great example of how it can take a little later for some guys to fully develop, I still think he has a lot of work to do but clearly 2016 is a make or break year for himComment

Weren't we looking at Zac Smith? Apparently he does not want to come here.?The Australian reports that Greater Western Sydney will target an experienced ruckman to offer support for Shane Mumford and the Giants' developing talls. Western Bulldog Will Minson, Geelong free agent Dawson Simpson and the Sydney Swans' No.2 ruckman Tom Derickx are said to be in the Giants' sights.
?One ruckman who won't be targeted by the Giants according to The Australian is Gold Coast big man Zac Smith, who will nominate as early as this week Geelong or Essendon as his destination of choice. AFL.com.au reported on Friday that the Swans are also in the frame for Smith.
He is miles behind Minson and Simpson...hopefully both of them end up somewhere else and they take TomD...we'll happily accept pick 125Comment

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I guess it's a bit of the 'grass is always greener' effect.
SEN reporting that we have 'shown interest' in Cam Ellis-Yoleman from the Crows...wouldn't have thought we'd need another inside mid. Would be surprised if it's true...but who knows!Twitter @cmdil

Yeah, I think so. I can definitely understand for young guys raised outside of the traditional footy states that were then drafted to a team from those areas Melbourne can definitely appear as "bright lights, big city" when you're a few years into working in the footy industry.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

And Leapin' Leo was just 184cm, yet was able to play on the likes of Gehrig and keep him kickless. That said, they've probably tightened up on defenders scragging some forwards now. Leo wouldn't get away with some of what he used to do to quell the big forwards. He'd be fine playing on Buddy or Cloke or Hall (if he were still playing). But against most forwards he'd give away a dozen frees a game.Comment
