He was their vice captain and was injured during the finals. Having said that I think WCE are slightly over rating him. Not a first round compensation pick candidate. They say he is good leader, but how do you rate leadership, and besides was not a highly paid player so they weren't paying him for his leadership qualities. Regardless of his brother playing for Geelong, I would say Selwood went there for the Laurie Nash.Comment

There is about half a dozen teams ahead of west coast that could easily decide to take Jetta if we went through to the pre season draft. I dont think he or west coast would want to take that risk.Comment

I doubt very much if he would nominate for the PSD. I reckon he'd just go and play state league for a year.Comment

Even if he did that , wouldnt he still have to nominate for the draft the following year ? Surely you cant just take a year out and avoid the whole draft process altogether.Comment

You are probably right. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. If he did go and play State League for a year wouldn't he still be contracted to us for his last year thus making him still ours to trade next year?Comment

Don't you just love the $ signs in the news graphic $ydney $wans, as if we have loads of money that other teams don't.This is interesting......Big Eagle to become a Swan | AFL at The Roar TV Looks like it's a done deal."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!."
