Mug, what do you reckon about big Nank going back? He's 199cm and 106 kg. 22 years.
His foot skills and ground work have been great.
He's third in line for ruck - easily better than Sinclair. I'm concerned that he will look for opportunities elsewhere.
I've banged on about how we cannot afford to lose him as ruckmen don't develop until they are 25 - at which time Tippet will be 32. Currently Nank is ahead of that curve and ruckmen are hard to find.
He's not that mobile but neither is Reg. But that can be trained into him.
I agree about Reid but IMO he's just too fragile, like his brother.
I just hope we can find a way to keep him but the kid wants to play footy and I am pretty sure a club will offer that, I could well see a club like the Tigers or North (if they trade Goldstein to GWS) going for him. I rate him a couple of picks either side of pick 30 if he asks for a trade, with a bit of luck he will have multiple suitors and we should take the best deal and drive a hard bargain here.
I like the idea of drafting the best available ruckman with what we get for him. In fact I would be tempted to see if we could uypgrade that pick slightly further either with Towers or our third rounder in a points deal with GWS. That would allow us to get a kid in secure that we can develop him for three years knowing that Tippet will be gone by then.
For a position we had a real issue with last season we now seem over-stocked but we have needed all four this year.Comment

What about this? We can't afford Bruest if we can't afford Mitchell, so Taylor Duyrea. A supreme kick, runs hard, and can play both as small defender and halfback to feed ball forward. You'd want a swap of picks to sweeten the deal for us but ...'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

I think the Swans need to raise the standard of their banner work in 2017. The Western Bulldogs gave us a lesson in bannerwork earlier in the year, and did something similar against West Coast - along the lines of 'your season will be over, just like the mining boom'Attached FilesComment

We have a good list and a young list as well. We have a fair few competent players waiting in the wings for their turn. It may like as if we have a lack of depth in KPPs, but we have Reid, Talia and AJ injured and not playing, but all a good chance to return next season. That's 3 quality players to add to the mix. I think we can enter the draft looking to get the best player available, but with a slight emphasis on KPPs, as good ones are always valuable, whether on the field or the trade table.Comment

Richards, Drex, Hiscox retired/delisted. Trade Towers, BJ (wont happen), Davis and/or Cunningham and upgrade Foote, Newman, Marsh.
AJ back to rookie list.
Murray and Dawson looking fair to good for me.
Shuffle, Shuffle, Shuffle and a bit more available for Mitchell.

If, and its still an if, this is the case then I think this may come back to bite us in the future.
Somebuddy offer to take a pay cut to make the funds available to keep him in red and white
