Rose did seem to botch a few shots on goal (he kicked 2.5 from 5 games). I really like him- he seems to have a really high footy IQ, I think he just needs a dozen more senior games to build on his experience, calm down and get used to the pace of the game a bit.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
Time for a recap on where our list numbers are at -
We will continue with the 38 on main list strategy so out Mitchell, Ted, Benny, Derickx = 34, confirmed upgrades Papley, Newman = 36 so 2 ND picks 17 & 38 to be used at this stage.
I think Hiscox will probably be delisted, just hasn't shown much to suggest he will make it. Possible other trades out, Nankervis, Towers, BJ?
Down to a week left in trade period, McCarthy, pick 7, 34, 72 for pick 3 has got things moving, so should start to move a bit quicker once a few of the bigger trades get done.Comment

GWS getting Pick 3 was a classy trade. They didn't get too much out of it on the face of it but they did get pick 3 which could be strategic and they got a young kid with some serious issues into an environment where the has a chance of getting on with his life whilst also hitting on the head that players could use the Homesick Card as required so well done GWS.
The next few days will be fascinating. I have a feeling that GWS will leave nothing in the tank at the end of this trade and draft period - no future picks and a standard list size (maybe even 39). It's best for them to get to baseline asap for when the hysterics start if they have success next year. The end game I believe is GWS and GCS having picks 1-4 to stop phantom bidding. I think GCS will be happy to sit on pick 4,6 and 8 and will only make a play for Pick 2 from the Lions if GWS get Pick 1 - if they do then Pick 2 and Hanley for Picks 6 and 8 should be win-win.
St Kilda value Steele as a mid 20 pick so I can see them maybe a pick swap with GWS getting Pick 10 (1,395 points) and giving Pick 16 (1,067 points) as well as St Kilda giving up Pick 49 (287 points) valuing Steele at 615 points or Pick 30.
I also reckon Carlton will go in big again for GWS retreads. Pick 16 plus Marchbank and Pickett should be enough to secure Pick 5 in principle.
That leaves GWS with picks 3,5,10,36,49,54 plus Will Hoskin-Elliot and maybe Stewart as remaining trade bait.
I think that they won't give too much away to get Pick 1 but picks 5 and 10 for pick 1 would be fair. Maybe they'll throw in Stewart to get the deal done. WHE wants to go to Collingwood and I think they'll need to find roughly 1,000 points which is late first round and you could argue that is dirt cheap but this kid is on big dollars and not getting a game. Picks 27 and 46 are worth 1,034 points so done deal.
So, finally GWS get picks 1,3,27,36,46,49,54 and all picks will be eligible for points.
If they take two of McGrath/McGluggage/Brodie with picks 1 and 3 then they'll have 2,043 points which should be enough to get both Perryman and Setterfield even if they both go in the range of picks 10-13. But they won't have enough points for Macreadie,Mutch or any other talented kids.
So, they have three choices
(a) Go for four absolute top 10 guns and focus on quality
(b) Settle on just Pick 3 and be able to select a batch of 5 academy kids
(c) Take the four guns plus one other and go into 2017 with a points deficit.
Will be interesting how they play itComment

I'd expect Towers to Brisbane to upgrade Pick 38 a little bit but not too much given Brisbane have pick 2 in the PSD. Whatever we get for Nanka, and he will have more currency, I'd expect to simply re recycled in the draft, hopefully to draft RWO favourite Tony Olango so we can the destination club of choice for Sudanese players.

GWS have an expanded maximum list size of 44 in 2017 so they'll need no more than 37 on their list before the ND. At the moment they have 41 on their senior list so if they need to shed four players which they will do via trading before even they look at some of the list cloggers there.
I could well see them losing Marchbank, Steele, WHE, Stewart, Pickett with two or three delistings and a maximum of six in so they right on line to be at the AFL Standard list size two years before the concession timetable.

Would they look at a swap of 17 for 5? He'd be worth it but I doubt it.Comment

You know, with Bryce Gibbs wanting to go Adelaide, I think it would be amusing, if the Crows were to take the piss, and offer Carlton Eddie Betts in return.Comment

Agreed, he's a better chance of coming good than some random late pick upgrade. Lets hope it all clicks for him in 2017 as he has all of the skills (tackling aside) to be that additional forward option we desperately need to step upComment

He is tall but cant mark, is fast but cant tackle. He is very much our new Drey and may do the occasional cameo but will never win a game for us. If he is really cheap then he is worth keeping as depth, but otherwise we may need his space to pick up someone who can potentially perform better.Comment

If Towers does re-sign I hope he really works on his defensive skills. particularly tackling. They are pretty ordinary at the moment.Comment
