Hoskin-Elliot is the pick of that bunch. Stewart next behind him, I reckon. Wouldn't have minded seeing either of those guys come to our club at the cost they were traded. All opinions are not equal. SEN reporting we swapped a stack of pics to Port for Pick 9 - we must have someone targeted in the Draft.

We have picks 9, 19 and 41 I think - not too badComment

I like the sound of 9 and 19 more than 14 and 17. Hopefully we can draft some good talent.I See It But I Don't Believe It!!!!Comment

Terry Wallace gave the Swans a D- in the trade period. He felt Tom Mitchell was a big loss and we didn't get anyone in to replace him. He also said that Sydney used to be the masters of the trade period but didn't pull off any big deals this year.
He doesn't seem to realise that we have Heeney, Mill, Jones and Hewett waiting to fill TM's shoes in the midfield. And he doesn't realise that we have no obvious holes in our list. He must be aware of the salary cap pressure on the Swans as well as other clubs. So who could we bring in to help our list? I wasn't interested in any of the players on the market this year. Even is JOM was available, how could we afford him with Heeney, Jones, JPK and Reid coming out of contract next year.
I imagine we would be looking for another home for Jack Hiscox, although it's a long shot. I'm am pretty sure he will be delsted after the trade period.

Supposedly the recruiters are saying this is the best Draft in 30 years - if it has been going that long. Surely we get a KPD as priority - and think about a ruckman.Comment

The Hawks are finished. They won't make the 8 for many years to come. They have no draft picks this year so will have to take a couple of duds at the end of the draft and they don't have a 1st rounder for next year. If you look at their list, they don't have much in the way of good young players except for Tom Mitchell and JOM. I don't think that's enough to carry the club after stars like Hodge, Burgoyne and Gibson drop away.
I don't think Geelong have done very well and don't look to be improving their list.
Collingwood had a disaster of a trade period.
It will take a while to figure out what happened to GWS, but it seems that they have lost most of their excess of top players. They still go into the draft in a strong position to add to already very good list, but the gap over other clubs is not as great as it was going into the trade period.Comment

I can't help feeling bitter and jealous about GWS selling all their top draft picks to Carlton cheap as chips. Except that GWS had no choice you'd have to classify GWS as a major loser of this trade period. A lot of talent out the door and not nearly as much coming back the other way. I don't think their NEAFL team will be as strong next year. Which perhaps is as it should be. Let them come back to the pack a little in terms of their stockpiled talent, they'll still have a best 22 that will be the envy of most if not the crazy depth to go with it.All opinions are not equal.
