Good to see Macca working on his leg pointing technique. If he can master this he is sure to get a big contract extension and maybe even oust JPK as captain (rumour has it that Kennedy's leg pointing is below AFL standard and only became captain due to the introduction of a new captaincy measurement system which rates contested possessions higher than pointing ability. Why do they have to keep changing the rules?).

Does anyone know what is achieved by the pad that Reid is wearing? Is it designed to slow down his movement?

Maybe to simulate pressure from behind without actually having a player there? Just guessing.

Sammy hasn't run much in the last 12 months, so he doesn't need those new-fangled tiny GPS thingys. They gave him one of the orginals (like the old clunky brick mobile phones).

And why are so many of the players wearing bra/crop tops? Are we sponsored by Lorna Jane now?

Maybe just about posture and improving stability in lower back and protect the hamstrings!

Heeney has been hitting the gym hard this off season, looking Parkeresque!

Yep, I've never got the sports bra thing? About the only way it could be worse, is if they were wearing mankinis.
(Please: no one post any images of men in mankinis).

For those wanting to watch training there are open training sessions on Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am. There is an article on the swans site for more details.

This sounds like a pretty good guess, especially if that cylinder has some weight to it.

Oh I see the AFL has a new rule where the third man is not allow to enter a ruck duel and the Umpires have been told to keep an eye out for it! I recall the AFL said the same thing last year on the sliding tackles as it is a dangerous move and should be banned. But of course the sliding tackle rule was fully allowable on Grand Final day. What a surprise!!

Anyone going to watch pre-season open training tomorrow? For that matter, did anybody go yesterday? Pics? News? Thoughts?

Never liked the third man up and I think it was difficult for the umpires to watch all players involved in that situation. Won't affect us much as we have very good rucks so should actually assist us.

I notice the whingers about the rule change are from the teams that do it a fair bit like Geelong, Blicavs will have to find other ways of getting involved in play now!

Any RWO'ers been to training this week? If I lived in Sydney I would go for a sticky beak.

I'm glad they are getting rid of the third man up because the last couple of years we have given away so many ruck frees. And yes I do think it is funny that the teams whining are the ones that do it.

I am very happy with the removal of the third man up - it will really hurt the Dawks, Geelong and even arguably the Dogs. it will also help restore the role that the premier ruckman can have in providing their team with an advantage around the ground at stoppages.

But lets see if it gets enforced when it matters - after all there isn't anything inherently wrong with the sliding in rule, the incorrect disposal rule, or what is legally a 'handball'. But we all saw how they were interpreted on grand final day....
