Damien Barrett said McVeigh may play for another club next year with 2 years coaching after that, like Sam Mitchell.
Also said he has one of the smartest footy brains going around.
What are your sentiments regarding this scenario? Hope if this is true he doesn't go the GWS (his brother is there).Comment

Yes when he retires he'll be a full time assistant coach. When it comes to McVeigh I don't understand the drama of him possibly going to GWS as an assistant playing coach. It's like saying to him "hey we hate them so you can't play for them" childish, just childishLast edited by Boddo; 8 July 2017, 12:15 AM.Comment

If there is room for Mattner and Shaw, I'm sure the management will create a position for McVeigh if requested. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

According to a lot of people Franklin was going to GWS, Treloer to Richmond & Gibbs to Adelaide. I'll believe it when I see it. It's possible we may lose one but I'd be surprised if both left. If both left it would be a monumental f...up by the club.Comment

After the slash and burn last year, Hawthorn don't have the currency to trade anyone in, have a couple of mid/late 30s picks, that won't get you anyone good. Their only currency is their 2018 first rounder in what will be a "Super Draft" but doubt any club is trading high 2018 picks this year. No one significant going to Hawthorn.
Reid to Collingwood to join his recently demoted brother? Thought that was a telling selection move last week, Ben Reid no longer best 22 at Collingwood!
Think Jones and Reid will both re-sign, if they don't we'll have so much cap space we'd be in the market for Dustin Martin!Comment
