I?m very uncomfortable about this. Unlike Mummy he?s not injured. Surely they have to honour his contract?
I was extremely curious about that too. Please explain VFL?

I think Alir is required and we'll do what it takes to keep him. Reg isn't going anywhere and I think the blood run thicketh in Paps so he'll most likely re-sign.

As products of the best player development system in AFL, all of the others will be legitimate targets for recruiters and represent opportunities for the players/managers concerned to attract lucrative or better deals (e.g. Lobby and Smiffy will receive big offers from elsewhere you'd think).

Next year's list management/trading will indeed be interesting.
We've had this problem for a few years, and haven't been hurt by it.

Biggs...Membery...Everitt...Armstrong - I'm really struggling to think of any "fringe" players who have hurt us.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Is Tom Lamb worth a life line? Liked the look of him before he was drafted, hasn't done much since.

Obviously a great prospect but do we really want to draft a kid with two ACL reconstructions under his belt before he turned 18? I'll defer to medical professionals but don't like the notion of a brick @@@@house being carried by dodgy knee. Best of luck to him.

I think he means Aiden Bonar. I don't think the depiction of someone running around on a dodgy knee is right, but there is evidence that the recurrence of an ACL injury is greater than for someone who has never needed surgery. So there is some risk with him.

Lochie O'Brien is the featured player on the AFL website today. O'Brien would be a solid pick for an outside mid.

Ed Richards is a similar player, but has a better all around game. His work defensively is better and he has some AFL type moves.

There's a lot to like in this versatile tall player.

Yeah. I see there is an updated phantom draft on that link suggesting that Sydney might arrive at Nathan Murphy. Hard to know what Swans will be thinking. Just wanted to put a question mark on Bonar based on knee reconstructions. I suppose that Malceski went OK after reconstruction(s) but, yeah, a risk.

There are many players who've suffered bad injuries in the year or two preceding their draft who have fallen (to varying degrees) in the draft due to a query over their recovery (or their risk). These include:
                              Chris Judd
                              Joel Selwood
                              Jake Stringer
                              Alex Woodward
                              Ryan Burton
                              Jake Lever

(just off the top of my head).

On the other hand, there are probably plenty of others who never did quite recover from their injuries and go on to become the players they were touted to become. The only one I can think off without going searching is Callum Barlett but I am sure there are plenty more littering the annals of draft history.
