Come on guys, let's start razor Ray campaign as GF umpire. He may make strange decisions, but he comes across as impartial. I respect him for that. No doubt Gil M will ensure Stevic and Meredith will umpire the big match, especially if it's Richmond v Sydney.

3-7 is not ideal but the first five rounds we were cruelled by an injury count as high as I can remember. At AFL level games are won or lost on such fine margins, you won't here the coaches blaming injuries but can you possibly think we'd have lost to the Pies with Heeney, Rampe, Papley , Rohan and Tippett instead of Foote, Fox, Marsh, Sinclair and Dawson?

Carlton was totally unacceptable but apart from that they've tried hard. And the loss against the Hawks whilst disappointing was hardly shambolic as you say - they had their chances and lost them but that is football. Watching Hawthorn at the moment is like watching an ageing champion in any sport, the legs are not willing but they are still smart and tough and find a way to win because they are one of the champion teams if all time and they'll win a few more games this year too. So to view a loss to them as a disgrace is a bit harsh.

I'll be reserving my judgement until the end of the season on both the team and our coaching team and try and enjoy the rest of the season as much as I can, I reckon you'd enjoy it more if you could do the same......

Many won't share this view but I'm going to view the ladder for the last 16 games at the end of the year as an alternate indicator of our season, if we can go 10-6 over that period I'll be mildly satisfied with the season after our start

I presume that Longmire says it for the players motivation / focus and what he tells the media is basically the same. He always paints the opposition as being dangerous if we give them the opportunity...

I'm sure a four quarter performance will deliver a win, if everyone plays their role.

All coaches need to be proficient in the art of spin, deflection, superfluous language and controlled message. Horse is one of the best at this "game".

It's PR 101 to say nothing that will become a headline, motivate the opposition or reveal any secrets.

Watch Working Dog's great comedy show "Hollowmen". It's a documentary.

Its look like he said its behind closed doors as well because all the boys that did interviews (McVeigh, Hannebery, Newman, Kennedy & Harry) said the same thing about Geelong having 140 tackles during the season against the Dogs.

They are all very well drilled by the same PR person and value doing the right thing by the team and staying on message over expressing their own opinions.

Clearly it's different behind closed doors. Clubs target players. I remember when Swans beat the Saints at the SCG (back in '09 it must have been) the did it partly by shutting everyone else down and letting Maguire bring the ball out of defence. The message was clearly "he's not a good ball user so let him get it and shut down options").

I know that was before longmire's time, but analysis of opposition weaknesses happens every game.

I like Horse as coach, except.... the thing I don't like is there is no plan B. When oppositions move from the ordinary there is no reaction and we are left looking simple. Clarkson has done it every time we play the Hawks significantly in the 2014 GF.

This bloke you say is a crap coach has the second best winning % of any coach since 1965 who has coached over 100 games. The best record, the bloke who beat us last night.
