I agree totally. A new voice is needed, and not necessarily from within.

If we go through a poor period again I wonder how many of the modern day supporters will still be supporters.

I'm not going to even bother going back and reading the comments... just stop asking for Horse's head on a pillow, ok.

I think it is extremely difficult for coaches not to have a use by date. Some survive longer by refreshing their support staff. Most get sack when things go bad for them or the team and then there is a rebuilding phase. Very few have a smooth transition. The best I can think of is our current coach and previous coach. I'm sure there have been others but it makes up such a small percentage.

I hope our change over comes before it is glaringly obvious, when ever that may be.

I think it's time for something new.
I've harped on this for awhile. Our box just doesn't seem to be able to think on the move.
We keep backing our players and the same structure in.
8/10 it works as our players are elite.

I truly believe with a new coach we could be a much better team
Unfortunately you have to choose the right one
So do you keep Horse or is the grass greener

                Looks green to me

He has a contract. I believe for at least another 2/3 years, and they'll be paying him $1M a year or something.
It's not really our style is it? The club isn't big on knee jerk reactions historically IMO.
When we lose a game, is it because he is being "out coached". The implication of that is that with a different coach
we could win every game. But in reality the players are going to be "outplayed" from time to time. It's the timing
of these losses that rankles a bit with some people.

While I was frustrated with some of his coaching the other night I will say there wasn't much he could do. The team was so flat that I don't think norm smith, Clarkson n Matthews rolled into one could've turned things around. Sadly for some players this is becoming to regular in big finals.

I think every coach must evolve their tactics/game style. I reckon John knows the time has come to mix it up a bit more and be a little innovative. The tough, hard finals footy we play all year can stay, but maybe a bit more player versatility would be a good move. As a club we have based our success on role players, maybe now we make players dual role players.

Stringer might be a bit of a loose cannon but if any club can straighten him out we can. He would be more than handy next to Buddy. Don't be surprised if we a lurking in the back ground to recruit him.

I imagine Stringer is being released because he's a dickhead who can't do what the club want him to do.
Are Talia and Aliir still on our list? They've been banished to the naughty corner.
He wouldn't last five minutes here.

Over the past 5 seasons premierships have been shared between 3 teams/coaches. We're one of them. The other two didn't even make finals this time around.

Sure, there is one team & coach that has had a better finals record than us over that same period. I think that is forgivable. If we could get Clarko, maybe we'd try but I don't think he's available.

People that are whinging about our disappointing exit and about Longmire may have some valid points but mostly have unrealistic expectations.

If we were able to play our Grand Finals on our home ground then we might have won a few more as well.

The story is that Johannisen has been having it on with stringers ex mrs n he's gone off the rails. Will not leave Vic due to kids, so forget even mentioning him. It's never going to happen. Similar with Goldsmith but he's not in stringers situation he's done a Wayne Carey apparently. So cross him out to.
