Looks like Moore was using the Swans to up his offer from the Swans. He's off my Christmas card list.

Apparently the Lachie Neale to Brisbane deal is worth 4 million over 5 years. 800k a year ?? Anyone else think that’s massive unders considering what Gaff and Shiel are being offered ? I’d have Neale over those two any day. Can we offer him 900 - 1 mill over 7 years and steal him ? Would be worth asking the question I would’ve thought .
FYI I’d be prepared to play for the Swans for only $790k a year.Comment

Langdon’s manager made a point of saying they had been talking with other clubs for some time, on the basis Collingwood were prioritising other deals.
And Harley gets himself quoted yesterday saying we were making up our minds about whether to make an offer to Moore, perhaps as a final nudge to ensure Collingwood upped its offer which makes Langdon less likely to stay.
When you look at all the good teams, they have always had non-stars who had been recruited from elsewhere to play roles and fill specific gaps.
For various reasons we haven’t done that for a few years, but it looks like we are making up for lost time now.Last edited by Steve; 3 October 2018, 10:44 PM.Comment

Langdon to the Swans seems unlikely, but he'd be a great get. He's not really a key position player but he plays reasonably tall for his height. He'd easily slot into the Mills role and release him further up the ground.
Freo are apparently into him and with his brother already over there, you can see why that might hold some attraction for him. Though if Hogan decides he wants to go west, that might tie up Freo's attention and trade currency. Even if they relinquish Neale, they'll probably have to find a little bit more trade currency given over-hyped key forwards cost a bit more than smallish midfielders, ignoring what the two have proven to date.
$800k for Neale sounds like good value for the Lions, though I reckon that's probably about the right rate for second tier mids (and by second tier, I mean those below the Dangerfield, Martin level). The $1.2m offer supposedly made for Gaff sounds like a club with too much spare salary cap space, as does the reported similar offer for Shiel (by the Saints). $800k is what we have been told Hanners is on (which was fair value when he was playing like an All Australian) and I presume Kennedy and Parker would be on similar contracts.Comment

I really think that we should be looking at Greenwood and Casboult. That way we'd have a pair of Levi's.Comment

I don’t think the Moore trade is over yet
Steven May could be the the missing piece for the pies to win a premiership

Casboult is an interesting one. He's a really handy tall forward....great mark, who struggles in front of goal.
If Plugger or whoever is our goal kicking coach could fix his technique, particularly his ball drop, he'd be a great get at a very reasonable price you would think.
Big if I know.
Duryea may well become a Swan today.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Worrying that a possible raft of FA moves are starting to dilute the points for our picks.
Lynch pushes back all our picks one place, Gaff & Lycett who appear almost certain to go push them back another two places and maybe more to come :-(
Also means we'll get less points for trading out pick 13 for two second rounders if that's what we do.Comment
