I'm the first to acknowledge my own bias as a Swan's supporter. I don't think Moore is a first rounder, yet I think Hannas is worth more than a second. As fans, we aren't privy to a lot of information. The Swans are particularly good at keeping those trading cards close to their chest too. I wonder what or who we'll get for Rohan? This pre-trade period seems to be dragging on!Comment

Not listening, so can't tell whether this is speculation or informed: NAB AFL Trade Radio on Twitter: ".@cleary_mitch on Nic Newman & Ryan Clarke: "It could be a rare straight swap between @sydneyswans & @NMFCOfficial"
#NABTradeRadio".
I'd be happy enough with it.Comment

Moore was pick 9 in the 2014 draft. At the start of the year he was rated as "Below Average" by Champion Data. This year he has only added a handful of games and broken down in two or three or moore of them so hardly enhanced his rating. Pies are sending him to Germany to see if they can get a fix for his hamstrings.
Collingwood may have to offload him IF they are really in the market for contracted Steven May.
This to me does not scream pick 13 in a super draft.
I thought we took slight (in hindsight big) unders for Mitchell but understand why we did that not wanting to get caught up in the O'Meara trade quagmire and wanting an early trade so we had time to work other trades.
I'd be really surprised if we just swapped pick 13 for Moore and help the runner up strengthen themselves with May. Think we hold out for using Saints 2019 second we get for Hanners and maximise the points with pick 13 by doing a swap for two picks in the 20s.Comment

Bloody hell! Mitchell (and late picks) gets us pick 14, yet we give up pick 12 in a strong draft for a player who is usually injured.Comment

For the millionth time we aren't getting a first round pick for Hanners, the best result IMO is a player swap (e.g. Acres)
Moore is a huge talent and is easily worth a first round pick. His injury history is a risk, but on potential he is the top 3 of young key position players in the AFL. He can play forward or back as well as pinch hit in the ruck, and is far more advanced than McCartin. I'd be very happy if we can snaffle him for pick 13.
Moore or not, I get the feeling we are definitely up to something big behind the scenes. Unlikley but would not be completely surprised if Tom Lynch nominated us this morningComment

I think when a player says they want to be traded, the club they are leaving loses a bit of love for them (the player), and
the club they might be going to knows this, and knows they don't have to offer that much. Once a player says they want to
be traded they are only really "worth" what you can get for them.Comment

Yeah I saw that to. They were focusing entirely on how May can get to Collingwood & our pick 12 for Moore would help them to satisfy Gold Coast along with their pick 18. They completely ignored whether Moore is worth a 1st round pick, especially considering he wasn't in Collingwood's best 26 for GF (not even named as an emergency). It is widely considered Collingwood would need to offload Moore if they are to fit May in their cap space, which doesn't put Pies in position to drive a hard bargain for him.
Damien Barrett revealed St Kilda have put a 6 year $8 million dollar offer in front of Shiel (worth $1.4m a season), but thinks Shiel will accept Hawthorn's offer (but he didn't stipulate what that is).
If May decides he wants to go to Collingwood, then their need to offload Moore becomes critical. This gives Swans the upperhand in any Moore trade..
Even better , if Sheil goes to the Hawks, then StKilda will be desperate to at least land Hannebery. Again this puts the Swans in a strong trading position....
The Swans need to STOP playing the 'nice club' at the trade table. Like we did with Jolly and Mitchell.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Tom Harley was on trade radio this AM. He was being very cagey about almost everything, particularly Darcy Moore. Said no offer had been made and Swans hadn't decided if they are interested or not. But he did say Hanners and Rohan trades would proceed and that Ryan Clarke and Vandenberg are players of interest. And that North were interested in Newman. Didn't rule out a straight swap, but didn't really rule out anything.
Friday can't come soon enough!Comment

If both these scenarios are true, then all the Swans need to do is hold out.

I don't mind the thought of Moore coming to us. The injury concern is valid but it may be an anomaly when you look at the number of soft tissue injuries the Pies had across the season."Fortunately, this is the internet, so knowing nothing is no obstacle to having an opinion!."
