Best we will get is a future 2nd rounder.Comment

So we likely have 7 spots minimum to fill:
Paps and Ronke have become specials not from the major draft or trades and no doubt we will have a couple others in mind
Medicals at the Swans reported for the following so far :
1. Clarke
2. Vandenberg
3. Blakey (certainty)
4. Duryea
5.
6.
7."be tough, only when it gets tough"

Reports today Melb midfielder Dom Tyson might be open to a trade due to lack of opportunities. His manager described him as a 25yo, 25 possession game hard bodied midfielder. Do you think he'll gain interest from our list management as replacement for Hannebery (but for less $$$$)?
He is a left footed inside/outside midfielder which some have been calling for. Looking at his early GWS highlights, he does possess good foot skills which Buddy would love!Last edited by KSAS; 1 October 2018, 03:53 PM.Comment

Melbourne home factor may've changed now. Quote from Dom Tyson's manager today:
Gieschen said his client would only consider moving for a greater opportunity in a rival team’s midfield.
“Dom’s predominantly played best as an inside midfielder and I guess with the emergence of a few other stars, he’s been pushed out to the wing,” Gieschen said.
“With Dom you know what you’re going to get — 25 possessions every week, good clearance numbers, great kid – he would be open to something if the right opportunity came up.
“Dom’s contracted for next year, he loves it at Melbourne. It would have to be the right opportunity for him, but we’ll see how the next couple of weeksLast edited by KSAS; 1 October 2018, 04:11 PM.Comment

I know that it’s always exciting looking to the future to see what we bring in via trade and draft but upon quiet reflection, it will be a bit sad seeing Hanners and Rohan go the other way.
People seem to remember only the recent past with Hanners. Bloody Easton Wood! Prior to Easton (who names their kid Easton?), sliding into his knee in the 16 GF, Hanners was in the top 3 mids in the comp and was only 25. I wear #4 on my guernsey and am sorry for losing this great servant of the Swans.
In regards to Rohan, he has always shown much potential and never really delivered. However, he has always been my kids’ favourite because of his speed and the ability to do something amazing. I’ll never forget the mark and goal against Essendon.
At the end of the day, these two won’t go down in the Swans history books like Goodes, Micky O, or Kelly but they will be missed by my family and it feels we are getting short changed by getting a combined future 2nd rounder and a 4th round upgrade if that is what eventuates.Comment

I agree with all of that. We supporters want success but also have a very strong emotional attachment to the players, and Hanners and Rohan have both been very loyal servants of the Swans.
Its painful to see them both leave, and for very little, but I think it is the right move by the club. I'd love to get more for them, but I don't see us getting a whole lot more for either one.
My latest reading of the Darcy Moore situation is that he's being low-balled by the club, and is holding out for more $, using the Swans to do so. The noises coming from his manager imply he's given them a number they need to hit for Moore to stay. But Steven May is complicating things. I think he'll stay at Collingwood. Having Steven May makes him more likely to take the offer, or something close to it. I can see him doing that by the end of the week.Comment

I think its now a game of chicken. The Pies are telling Moore - if you want to stay you have to take the offer in front of you. His manager is saying the ball is in their court. Someone will blink and he'll stay.Comment
