Buy low. Pay nothing and save your dollars/picks for a start either this year or next. Our list I still bloody good even without any additions. We did just finish one game out of the top four with significant injuries to our talls all year. With a bit more luck injury wise, the development of our young players, and an addition here or there to improve our bottom six, we will be right in the mix again.Comment

Wasn't Hurley the player we were talking to when we got the trade ban?Comment

I suspect mills will take over Macca’s role in the future so we need more midfielders"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Frawley? I've never heard anything linking him to the Swans.
There were rumours at the time that the Swans were keen on bringing the disgruntled Ryder to the Swans but I'm not convinced how much that was based in reality. I'd be surprised if we had the cap room to bring anyone of that ilk to the club back then.
There was also the Brisbane player who's name escapes me at the moment (Joel someone?) who had been effectively released by the Lions and wanted to come to Sydney (the city) for family reasons. He landed up on the Giants' list for a season (or maybe two). I doubt he was high profile enough to persuade the AFL to introduce a trade ban.Comment

Where else do you want me to invent trading rumours than on the trading thread???
EVERYTHING... and I mean EVERYTHING said in this thread is mere speculation - unless, of course, it's confirming that a player has signed a contract.
It's the off season - time for innuendo and wild speculation and of course, unsubstantiated rumours.
Take a chill pill bruz. It's going to be a long off-season.Last edited by AnnieH; 28 September 2018, 10:35 AM.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

He played nearly 200 games for Brisbane as a key defender ...He was their club champion in 2012, and was regarded as one of the better key defenders in the AFL.
I think he was high profile enough for the AFL to take notice.
He wanted to move to Sydney and was linked to the Swans, in fact he publicly said so, then the trade ban, so off to GWS he went...
Looked very much like AFL manipulation to me.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

I see Barratt's at it again.....
If.......your trading-in has been top-notch over a number of years
Then.......the cut which already ran deep in the trading-out of Tom Mitchell is now a gaping wound.
Wow, let's all slash our wrists.....gee, Barratt's a tool. We got over Mitchell as soon as he left.....and we'll win a premiership before Hawthorn does (the ball's in Horse's court on that one though).
